I agree that something has happened with his sprint. It was evident already in the Mallorca races this year.

I think some sprinters may survive (maybe even Bennett - he is not a bad climber) because there is still 25km to go when they cross the summit of that last steep climb.

Survive 3 kms at 10 percent? How?

I think Higuita will win this stage.

Stone formations similar to those in the south of France.... the stage to Gap.

Chase back would be more accurate than survive, but the idea is the same. The front group will grow in the 25km between the summit and the finish.

I did not say that. As I said there are 25km to the finish from the top of the climb. The sprinters do not have to survive the climb itself if they are within striking distance of coming back after the climb. Then they will get back if they have teammates to work for them, and, better, if the decimated peloton does not ride full speed

I’ll be very surprised if an attack doesn’t take this, either solo or a small group. If there’s a big enough bunch for any sprinter to make it, the non sprinter teams should be sold for glue.

Not sure whether the beginning of the race and the freshness is better for the attackers or the sprinters.

Ha! There's that phenomenal rock again.

Lol, Valverde is absurdly strong. I am pretty sure he will manage to throw this stage away though.

When you think about it, pretty predictable that Kruijswijk and Poels are struggling today when they race so hard.
