I guess you missed Stelvio and Sestriere. TGH got the Giro on a silver plate from Dennis which def suffocated the rest far worse than Jumbo did this season.

As big as Tom can be, he is now in the same team with arguably today's best GT rider and at least another competent GC man in Kruijswijk.

Yes, one team leader with one teammate controlling a total of three climbs is more dominant than a full team controlling two entire GTs?
I got sick of watching Jumbo on the front of the peloton on literally every stage at the Tour and this Vuelta wasn't much better.

Edit: and also, make no mistake, I will never be a fan of SkIneos, but I see Jumbo excused for the same dominance people loathed Sky for. In my view there is no difference, in both cases we have a team that's the death of attractive racing.

Actually JV is better than Ineos at suffocating a race.

Ineos was using their train to shred the peloton into pieces, JV is using it to keep everything together.

What a dramatic finish it was! I thought that Roglic might actually loss another GT on the last mountain. Kudos to Carapaz for trying (I supported him this year) but I was a bit disappointed that they didn't try harder a couple of km earlier on the steepest section. Roglic showed a slight weakness but managed to limit his loss. As I expected at the race start it was Roglic-Carapaz battle (albeit with Carthy as the third contender). Congrats to Primoz on defending his Vuelta title - very impressive considering that he won 4 stages and had a very busy autumn (TdF, WC, classics). Great season for him - I think overall he deserves the rider of the year title.

BTW I liked the scenery today. Under the clouds at the climb start, inside clouds in the middle and above the clouds (+sunshine) near the top. I pleasently reacalled my mountain hikes.

I'm not asking Roglic to speak Dutch, so i don't know why you would ask me how my Slovenian is.
It's also not about him not knowing the words, his English is more than enough, it's the monotonous way in which he speaks, cut up by errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr after every word.

It's not about a language barrier imho. Plenty of people speak like that in their native language as well and it doesn't become any less irritating. And i'm not making fun of it, i'm simply saying it's annoying as hell.

To be fair, I feel there may be a cultural aspect to his boring interviews. Pogacar doesn't come across as very charismatic either, but he could be mistaken for the shy kid from a few doors down thanks to his baby face.

I'm not going to lie, in this forum it's easier to be popular or unpopular if you come from certain countries.
However, I have not seen being Slovenian has ever been an issue for any rider's popularity here.
Being a good TTer in a dominant team, especially if you also have good sprint for a climber on the other hand...

Congrats to Roglic on the GC. He saved it today... Didn’t expect him to be able to do it due to his long racing season and staying in shape for so long... Easier, and shorter, 3rd Vuelta week definitely helped him a little.

This Vuelta was for Carapaz to win, or lose, but I didn’t expect his team to self-destruct so rapidly and prove to be completely useless...

Congrats to both. I like them for different reasons and have no problem to root for both of them

Yeah. My basic rule of thumb is that the Tour winner had the best season unless someone else either wins 2 or more of the 9 tier one races or wins one of those races and an absolute ton of tier two races. This year Roglic and WVA both did enough to overcome the presumption in favour of the Tour winner and Roglic had the slight edge on WVA.
