But having both Kuss and Bennett up there might be a bit too much, if something happens to Roglic.
They have 5 other guys who can ride with Roglic. And of the remaining 90+ kms, only 8 are really uphill, so most of today they'd want Dumoulin and the other guys riding for him. Better that than have Kuss get stuck behind a split, or Bennett pick the wrong time to go back to the car for bottles again.

Having Kuss and Bennett up there means Ineos can't just take a day off and let the break get 12 minutes.
 
Tim Wellens didn't contest the KOM points at all... He is not honoring the KOM jersey:triumph:... Or he's just saving himself for another stage win...

He can't climb with the best in that group, and he might have used more energy to bridge the gap than some of the others.
And if he want to a have a chance to win the stage, it's definitely better not to waste energy before the finale.

I completely agree with you. Ticker writes that Martens is also in the front group.
