What’s the point of Bahrain train riding at that pace? To keep things slow enough for Haig to hang on?

Getting very convinced now that Bahrain just want to ride defensively to keep Haig where he is and have him leapfrog Lopez on the final ITT to get on the podium.
If they really wanted to pace the peleton and the gap would look different, it's been the same story on the previous mountains.

Other than fringe riders like De La Cruz, who do we count on here? Probably López and the Ineos duo?

I think no major action will happen before Caruso and Poels run out of steam

Edit: and even then, there might be Oomen left to take it up

Only hope I have is Ineos letting Castroviejo rip this for 2km and then Yates or Bernal to attack. Movistar don't have anyone left and are probably hesitant to burn someone before the last 3k.
