Yates on the race: "I need to get out of Holland safely and from there on, it's a typical Vuelta with something hard every day. You never have time to rest."

Seems pretty accurate, for riders and spectators.

ITT was fun to watch, but the other 2 stages in Denmark were more dull than the Champs-Elysees stage so can't say I saw the added benefit of starting abroad.

Not sporting wise of course but as a Dane, I would have been surprised if it was all just a nuisance to our Aalborgensian friend.

Cyclingnews.com articles aren't even worth a money subscription. It was fine as an free news site containing ads.

Wielerflits.nl is free and actually has got exclusive content regarding transfers etc.
It's not like wielerflits is the pinnacle of journalism either (far from it) but you're right, it's free. Cyclingnews is just oftentimes faster with breaking news.
