Remco did, indeed ride superbly today. As for Roglic; it's a poker game as well as a MMA Cagefight. You need to chip away and having Mas as Remco's mutual threat is better than attempting a wild early attack at altitude and have everybody chase you. Isolating Remco is his best and most manageable strategy even if fans think it indicates weakness or reluctance. Very few stupid riders win any race, let alone a GT with everyone's domestiques folding. What a brutal finish! 2500 meters of climbing over the last 50 km. Even those shallower sections were difficult given cumulative fatigue and everyone fighting for himself. Arensman - superb performance! Remco passed a difficult test today, he was really strong. JV and Primoz couldn't break him on the steepest section and Primoz only managed to follow his wheel on a more aerodynamic section and thanks to the energy saved he was able to snatch seconds at the end. Lopez and Mas' attack was the moment where the Slovenian should've gone for it but apparently he couldn't do more today. The race is not over but Remco's situation (despite losing some time) is more comfortable than 24 hours ago, given that he has just overcome the biggest obstacle of the race.
He's probably someone who should be looking more for stage wins these days. It eventually worked for Meintjes. Most entertaining part of this Vuelta is watching people try and ninja their way into the top 10.

Sooooo, there was a stomp, even if only a small one after Roglič was dropped by Mas and Lopez. Remco couldn‘t stick with Roglič. The forum didn‘t scream at Mas to take pulls, they just ignored when he pulled. Superman resisted Roglič‘s mini-stomp on Hazallanas to attack at altitude. Froome, Julius Johansen and Padun were not at the front, Nibali only until they started climbing fast while Valverde went out the back early. Landani stayed with the top GC riders for a short while but was never at the front. This post didn‘t age badly but I kinda made the wording a little ambiguous.Stomp incoming. Evenepoel won‘t be able to stick with Roglič. Half the forum will scream at Mas to take a pull when he‘s clearly unable to. Superman to use his superhero powers to resist the stomp and attack at altitude. Riders who won‘t be at the front: Froome, Julius Johansen, Shark, Padun, Valverde, Landani. This post to age badly like no post has ever before. It has been written.
López destroyed every chance of working together once he decided to attack Mas. Riding like mentally disabled as always. No he didn't. Mas was on the front as much as Lopez after de la cruz was dropped.
Do you think these have have buttons the DS’s push to make them accelerate whenever they want. They have to be listening to their bodies as well as understanding the tactical situation.prff Roglic, this is lame! could have helped..
Remco next time just play longer or play dead or follow MAS...
LOL. You got that right, the fight for the top 10 has been brutal!!!!Most entertaining part of this Vuelta is watching people try and ninja their way into the top 10.

But they appear very chaotic to me
Sure, now is Lopez fault!López destroyed every chance of working together once he decided to attack Mas. Riding like mentally disabled as always.
But they fight for the Top-10 by attacking not by doing nothing all race.LOL. You got that right, the fight for the top 10 has been brutal!!!!
Aresman, Meintjes, O'connor, Uran, Hindley, Polanc, Kelderman.
It doesn't get more Ninja than these riders. Zubeldia would be proud of this race.
Nairo got similar treatment from fans who would call him boring, despite him using exactly the same "some stages just settle in, pick one or two stages to attack from distance in" strategy that made the likes of Nibali so beloved. Once the reputation sticks, there's not much a rider can do, Mas would need to be pinging off the front with reckless abandon in flat stages to shake off his negative aura now.Bitter Nairo/Superman fans.
Excitement.Signs of what exactly?
Yes. They did a low key TdF-Rogla-Jonas-attack-on-Pog-style on Rodriguez.I think that Ayuso/Almeida did work well together and cleverly making turns to attack Rodriguez and making him try to close the Gaps, First to Almeida and then to Ayuso untill he blowned off and they dropped him.
Quintana literally wasted his only real shot at the Tour by waiting too long to attack.Nairo got similar treatment from fans who would call him boring, despite him using exactly the same "some stages just settle in, pick one or two stages to attack from distance in" strategy that made the likes of Nibali so beloved. Once the reputation sticks, there's not much a rider can do, Mas would need to be pinging off the front with reckless abandon in flat stages to shake off his negative aura now.
Even then, recalling Quintana in the 2019 Vuelta, it might not be enough.
Not yet. The third week, even though there are no hard climbs left, is full of traps!!I've seen enough. I'm calling the Vuelta for Remco
What, do you bet on him and lose money . . . Or is he from your region and isn’t upholding his heritage . . . Do you have shares in Movistar? Why go so sour on a guy who just did well on this monster climb, and in fact did attack and ride at the front for stints, and has to carry the extra responsibility of staying high in GC to garner points to avoid the team’s loss of WT status?Mas is and always be a segundon
that does not justify any bullying to his face but after his retirement his career will be seen the same way he chooses to ride; pusillanimous and grey
Soooooo I guess Jay Vine isn’t the new Ben King…
