It's a bike race. You may not like his style, but today he was a winner.Costa retirement can't come fast enough. Dude's a desgrace.
Post of the Day!Costa gonna win this, aint he?
Yep, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday are days Remco can get back some time, but how will he do on Wednesday & Thursday up in the mountains though. The weakness of his team is very obvious now. He's still 16 minutes behind Kuss, so Jumbo can let him take back 10 minutes and still not care.Lol.
Jumbo signalled today they're not gonna give Evenepoel anything more than 2-3 minutes for free, while Evenepoel very clearly showed he can't go nuts all day every day.
So you think he rode four minutes into the whole GC mix and they went all out on Larra-Belagua yesterday? I don't. I think he will be marked more closely the nearer he gets and he'll have to earn those minutes going forward rather than being allowed into breaks that gain minutes.Libertine I see what you are saying but I don't believe in " easy minutes " in a GT against pros where a win is everything at these caliber of event. Remco is riding like a cartoon, went over a cliff got blown up by dynamite, hit by a train, anvil dropped on his head, he gets up brushed it off and gave us this..Jumbo I believe was telling the truth, their alarm bells are ringing if he gets 2 or 3 minutes, didn't look like they could do anything about it and even the green jersey was up there trying to reel him in.. the guy is a beast
Remco: Kom, another stage, top 10.Lol.

But he does not necessarely need to gain time on Kuss to get back in the top ten, he just need to gain on 5 of the 15 riders in front. That said, i don't thinck he cares about a top tenSo you think he rode four minutes into the whole GC mix and they went all out on Larra-Belagua yesterday? I don't. Gerrans agrees................It's a bike race. You may not like his style, but today he was a winner.
That's what I like to see. The legacy of the Beetroot Master lives on.In the meantime Kuss downing a bottle of something like beetroot juice, Horner's favorite.
Indeed. But he really is an annoying wheelsucker. I am actually surprised no one just belts him. It's a bike race. You may not like his style, but today he was a winner.

...says no oneCmon Costa! You deserve it.
If some of those riders care about their top 10s, they will be the ones that have to chase him. Jumbo needn't. But we have seen enough examples of riders caring about their anonymous lower end top 10s because of sponsor needs or UCI points or what have you, so some of those teams might ride to prevent him getting in breaks or to manage the time gained by breaks he's in as a result. But he does not necessarely need to gain time on Kuss to get back in the top ten, he just need to gain on 5 of the 15 riders in front. Well, it says something that I actually have more things that I remember Carlos Barredo for out of that fight, and he was hounded out of the sport and retrospectively biopass banned a decade ago whereas Costa has been an active pro the entire period since.(I know this is very much historical, but it's in the category of "so weird and random, it's hard to forget.")
Am I a bad person for mostly remembering Costa as "that guy who once got beaten up with a bike wheel"?

I think this is how old people's memories usually work. Remembering things in the distant past but not more recent events.(I know this is very much historical, but it's in the category of "so weird and random, it's hard to forget.")

Also, LS just posted that photo....
I mainly remember Carlos Barbero for not being Carlos Barredo.
What race did you watch. The GC riders had another day off. After the first hour the JV trio were breathing through their noses.but in my wildest dreams didn't think he could destroy people again today and get 3 minutes and finish just off the podium, in the same camera frame as the people sprinting for the win..I am blown away by these 2 days of riding, as you can tell..
