That Jonas VIngegaard is a pretty good cyclist, I get the impression he might've been holding a little something back. We will see in next years vuelta when he comes up against the 3x champ Sir Rog.

OMG. He does warmup rides. This guy is just too good for this world.

Like, this is the standard of what is needed to praise Kuss as exceptional.

Are warmup rides really standard for the parade stage of a GT?
Maybe for the sprinters, but not the GC winner.

The first part of the stage is basically an almost too easy warmup, so I don’t think warming up does anything.
They probably get too much energy from their nutrition, because it is set up for them to expand a certain amount of energy. They are just not gonna do that today, so they had to go for a quick ride before the actual race or their legs would be spinning too fast unnecessarily during the parade.

Imagine the inter-team battle with Remco, GC G, Roglic, & Carlos all vying for that final podium spot at the Tour.

(QUOTE)
The Jumbo-Visma team of race leader Sepp Kuss has filed an official complaint with the organizers of the Vuelta a España over the actions of the Spanish police, apparently the latest in a number of squads to do so this month.

On Thursday Jumbo-Visma soigneur Kevin Nyssen was filmed being taken to the ground by members of the Spanish Guardia Civil. He angrily remonstrated with them, and was ultimately led away but not arrested.

According to HLN, Nyssen suffered a severe concussion during the incident. The Belgian publication said that the matter arose when Spanish police surrounded Jumbo-Visma rider Jonas Vingegaard and the rider then received a slap from a bystander (!)
...
Another Jumbo-Visma soigneur Richard Kremers has said that Nyssen’s memory has been affected by the blow.

“He is doing quite well, but he still needs to take it easy. He can’t remember much anymore. We are being treated like hooligans.”(END QUOTE!)

Video at the link shows the idiot soigneur pushing a policeman - he's lucky he was not taken away for a night in the cells, as would have happened in some countries.

Yes, I noticed. I'm sure he's a terrible person and all the media are lying.
It's not about claiming they're lying. It's about the copious and effusive praise of what a great guy he is for simply not being an absolute a-hole. Like I said before, compare the treatment Cadel Evans got in 2008 for looking out for his dog. And simple things like letting somebody else sit in the front seat of the car is being met with comments like "he's too good for this world" as though it's some great altruistic act.

In the Sepp thread you've even got a couple of posts by people for whom he's their favourite rider saying the media presentation of him has been ridiculous.

I thought it was the wheel sucking and the squeaky voice that made everyone dislike Evans.

How do you know 'not being an a-hole' is the level of niceness he reaches?

Look, I now get why you were so vocal in your criticism of Sagan. I thought and think it was over the top but there were obviously undesirable personality traits here and I understand why they were necessary to highlight in a world where almost everybody loved him.

But here, you're honestly just digging a hole.
