Congratulations to Kaden Richard Wayne Gary Wayne Groves for winning the stage.

However I'm not impressed by Alpecin's performances on the non-sprint stages in this race. Mareczko would almost have improved the team.

And he finished 8th.

As I said, too much pride up in front.

Well Remco wouldn't have done any better if he had stayed in the peloton, so he just had some fun while helping to decide the outcome of the stage in the process.

Also to note the last race of Luis Leon Sanchez's career, a long career mostly dedicated to help others but with some very nice wins.

He is the spark plug, the real catalyst for aggressive racing, the guy jumps off the front and buries himself trying to make it work. The finish was great but his contribution and process are admirable.. Guy is a cycling superstar.. He wins even when he doesn't
He's also a bit of a putz, but yeah, he is what you say as well.

There's more than two options.

You can go for a breakaway victory and actually optimise for victory.

I probably agree with you but I gotta say that strategically Groves getting in a couple of breakaways and being there to contest significant intermediate sprints was a very intelligent long game, his crash and recovery and now this finale, impressive.
Groves grunted it out today went off the front and pulled through, took his turns and still came up with some juice for the sprint when he was definitely empty

I can only conform to the consensus. It really is a nice jersey.

He really earned that one today, great to see.
