Nevermind the wind, the stage should have already been neutralised, there is a category 1 climb to the finish. These guys are not circus animals, they shouldn't be forced to have heartrate above 150bpm purely for our entertainment. Only keyboard warrior armchair fans think otherwise

Seems like some here cannot get over the fact we have a normal bike race today :D

Because of the headwind, there will be no action unless the helpers are dropped.
And I cannot see the breakaway getting very far, also because of the headwind.

Well, if the wind at the top continues, Trek might get a bit worried: They'll need something to catch Lopez and Ellisonde.

Caruso loves a headwind, remember that Tirenno stage where he dangled off the front for ages and the last few k took about half an hour.

Just tuned in at about 32km to go, lovely heli shots of the mountains!

Also, that is a huge peloton right now, not for much longer as they are climbing though.

And now the front group turns away from the headwind. Will be a headwind for part of the MTF, but a tailwind for most of the section from 4.5k to 1.5k which is the steepest part, before turning back into the headwind for the final bit.

Can't watch, why has Latour been dropped? Surely this is between Caruso and Kämna now if GC guys don't catch them unless Kämna hangs out Caruso to dry because he's ahead in GC.

DSM working to get back into the red jersey possibly with Bardet. I don't think its that likely but they seem willing to give it a try.

Piccolo already suffering at the back.

For being a bottom-of-the-barrel climbing signing, Sepúlveda has been surprisingly good at Lotto.

And for some reason he isn't getting an extension. Atleast that's what HNB reported. Super weird. He's really good for being on so little money. Ok he'll probably ask a bit more now, but it's not like he will have super offers.
