Think Almeida will surprise people today, he loves these long grinders and here his lack of acceleration and willingness to spike his watts won't matter. Don't think the difference to Vingegaard will be big if there at all.

They are trying to win the Vuelta. They are not gonna drop Vingegaard with an easy pace
If I were to slightly restructure your sentence, UAE pulling for Vingegaard, UAE pacing, working for Vingegaard is the best way not to win the Vuelta. UAE should be doing nothing to help Jonas.

UAE really think that Vingegaard will fold because he has a Tour in his legs? When has that ever happened?

It's a tactic to make race as hard as you can in hopes your main adversary has a bad day.

We have to give Almeida credit for it once again. He's attacking more in this Vuelta than Vingegaard did in the Tour.

So how will they drop Vingegaard?

They do try, ultimately. Of course, there's nothing Almeida can do in these situations but to face Jonas head on but people would still complain if they didn’t try at all. Can't really cry when they try. I guess the logic is to dictate the pace to his liking. Jonas will always in normal circumstancse nuke him anyway but cant knock trying.

What's hilarious, though, is people expecting UAE not to win a single stage and putting all their hopes on Almeida beating Vingegaard thats the loco part, which always been highly unlikely he will, not a very smart risk/reward ratio at all and that should be beyond obvious. Some people are just very emotional or are tactically inept
True.. But UAE already with stage domination so far, they need to keep calories in the bank don't spend them this late in the 3 weeks trying for additional photo opportunities or some bizarre version of showing off. It's almost correct.. Instead of 2 yellow and 1_red being paced by 2 whites and a polka dot , just subtle difference. It's just my opinion, if I were UAE I would make red jersey team defend
