But who cares about the TTT other than GC teams and the ones who can win. Half the WT teams don't even have a good enough TT set up

It's obvious that the teams care about the TTT. GC teams saving themselves and the few sprinters wanting it as easy as possible to the final. This is more the reason why the TTT should always be stage one.

I was saying I wanted this stage to have Finestre for the memes, but I cannot be convinced it would not play out the same way after doing Finestre in 1h30 with the full peloton

Do the little individual stage awards get shared typically? Or is that just for various jersey earnings awarded at the end of the whole thing?
I think it sometimes gets lumped into one pot and split at the end amongst the team, though can't be sure that's the same for everyone.

Jay down, Bennett too, completely innocuous

ISN are going for Stewart I think

A couple of crashes just now as they were riding through a narrow section, Bennet one of them. Bummer, he crashed only a couple of days ago. :(

Only 8km to go

Huh, Gaudu has to be specifically at least 8 places ahead of Vingegaard to take red? I thought he just had to be ahead...
But of course, since it all boils down to the 8 places Vingegaard was ahead of Gaudu on stage 1, I guess it makes sense.
