It didn't look like that at all. From what we saw, Vingegaard continued to pace quite hard, and then we didn't see the favourites for more than a minute, and then they had been reeled back in.

I think it's a bit odd to not have seen a single post suggesting that Vingegaard might not be as flying as we thought he would be.
Don't think he can be as good as in the Tour for 3 weeks, so the timing of the form is gonna be more aimed at the latter half of the race.

I think he simply stopped pacing because he didn't get any help from Ciccone and the effort wasn't worth the gains as Almeida was chasing full gas.

I haven't read upthread but I gotta say the roads on that last climb are gorgeous. Like the prep the Tour does for the Haut Savoie roads! Love to ride those.
