All riders in the back group watching each other was very pathetic. I think that made the gap worse. It would have helped to have harder gradients.

Pidcock explains that Almeida was too strong and he couldn't give him any turns.

It's amazing how many riders are permanently strong enough to follow pace and chase down moves but not strong enough to contribute.
This. And of course the always excellent look of not being able to pull because the other rider was too strong, but then out sprinting them at the very end. Amazing way to get that extra doooosh look

People trashing Vingegaard in the TdF threads. Here you go, this is Jonas Vingegaard. No multi mountain stages, no gradients, but when he gets it, it's done.
He's racing perma out of position Almeida with Ayuso as lieutenant and Tom Pidcock. The real question is why the *** you choose to do nothing on Pal and Cerler

Why should pidcock give him a turn? Almeida is the weird one for expecting pidcock to help him win the vuelta. They both said the right things in the interviews.
