Garmin-Cervelo spent a lot of energy on the front today, for good reason. Their best placed rider was Heinrich Haussler, in 42nd position.

Skil spent a lot of energy riding at the front too (they were the ones starting to ride), and Kittel didnt bring it either

tough luck... but you got to try

Apart from Martin, Garmin don't really shine in this race. They're nowhere without Hushovd

Haussler was about 10th back coming into the straight but gave up in the last 150 metres.

SAGAN won as per earlier prediction, he should do the classics next year and fight it with Gilbert!

Awesome leadout from Spartacus there - who was it for?

Good and clever riding by Mollema - I am beginning to understand all the Dutchy excitement at last

Sky seem to always be on the wrong side of those little splits - no Arvesen makes this more likely...

Mollema was in that same crash btw. But it's what you need as gc rider, to be in front.

This is why Gesink is so frustrating, he would probably have lost 20 seconds here.

Maybe Mollema has got his somersault perfected by now so isnt bothered by crashing?;)

Lead-out was for the guy who came third.

Wiggins does seem to be on the wrong side of splits. In 2009 he lost some time to Armstrong the day before Ventoux when the remaining sprinters got a small gap. Also, im sure there was one day in that tour where Wiggins was way back and there was initially a gap given that later got taken away? Maybe he was willing to risk giving a few seconds?

Vey happy with Sagan's astute win, he is definitely maturing. Showing good form for the Worlds as well.

No, the rest days are pretty inconsistent. In 2008, for example, the rest day was on the first Friday, after 6 stages in the south, to transfer up to the Pyrenees for the two MTFs on the first weekend (La Rabassa and Pla de Beret); in 2009 it was after just 4 days because of the Holland-Belgium start, and last year it was in the typical position of the Monday after the first mountain tests.

Thank you.
