So, in addition to be the greatest climbing talent since...ever, he's also a great tactician?
Is there something TGBM can't do?:D

Apart from successfully fighting a land war in Asia... No, there's nothing he can't do... He's practically Shaft on wheels.

Kessiakoff in front of Mollema and the split? How does he sneak in undetected day after day? Fredrik Carl Wilhelm Stealth Kessiakoff!
Latest nano-technology in the Astana skinsuit makes them invisible to tv cameras :D

Lol! :D For that he'll need to join up with Cancellara.

ladies and gentlemen..,

is Mr Sagan going to be something like Sean Kelly 2.0?

this is the question that all the cyclingtards (myself included) must do in order to find inner piece.

+1000

my exact sentiments-he's more than a pure sprinter-which makes him more capable to fight for classics & week-long races- he's surely the rightful inheritor of Kelly's greatness

His record in high mountains is still quite horrid. Can never see him compete for GC in GTs or races like Switzerland with his progression there.

He's more of a Bettini.

Great job by Mollema and Kessiakoff. That's what you need to do when you want to win a GT: be attentive. A pity the Nibali couldn't be there also, he missed a great chance to take 5 seconds from Wiggins.

Nibali was there, in the wheel of Mollema, but somehow Nibali halted at the 'top' of that mini climb. He couldn't gear up on the flat part and left the gap.

Nibali is simply less explosive

seriously.. even with canc as lead out bennati can't do it.
he was tipped as petachi's sucessor but by the looks of it he will stop winning much earlier than petachi himself.

great win sagan. when contador and canc are out i am going to focus on you :)

I don't think Cancellara did it particularly well; or rather he would've needed another Leo before or behind him. Very difficult for any sprinter to win from Bennati's position imo.

this time has been a great job, 10 days ago Nibali did the same and went down...

Mollema was in that same crash btw. But it's what you need as gc rider, to be in front.

This is why Gesink is so frustrating, he would probably have lost 20 seconds here.

maybe i am mistaken but wasn't Sean Kelly even worse at his age? As far as i know, Kelly only become a true allrounder after 26\27 (who was the other that became much better at that age? i can't remember his name ) thus making Sagan a really amazing prodigy.

not only that, we have to listen to mister Dylan (the times, they are a changin) so it is only perfectly natural if Sagan won't be able to contest the tour. well, he doesn't need to do it in order to be Kelly 2.0 and even surpass Sean.

The problem isn't Cancellara. The problem is Bennati.
Everyone thought that he was going to be the next big thing at sprints, but he isn't.

Sagan is so boring............cos he keeps winning with ease.:D

When Sagan won his first Vuelta stage, His teammate Viviani won the same day in the USA.. And their respective Victory salutes could not have been more different.

Sagan also in a tv commercial for SRAM quite the deadpan.

A future multiple time World Champion such as he gotta loosen up a tad, endorsements await!

in my opinion you, as a GC guy, have to be in front until 3km to go. Than it is just too dangerous during a flat stage... today was not clearly a flat arrival, but still dangerous for a GC guy... better to loose 5 sec that to go on the ground, get injury, and loose the whole GT

pretty impressive by mollema today, taking some nice seconds. At the very least could increase his confidence some more.

Sagan obviously even more impressive.

It's getting even tighter at the top. Bauke made more seconds than JRod yesterday and at a smaller cost I'm sure. Good win by Sagan. He does remind me of Kelly somewhat, although I only saw Sean in the second half of his career when the stage wins were rarer, but he was a major threat in any race. Sagan is still young. Whether he will be a threat in GTs is a very big question mark, but I could well see him winning a lot of one week races (even those like Romandie and TdS are quite possible).
