If a Rabo somehow manages to win (I know, it's impossible), then Sean Kelly and co will be lost for words.

Sean Kelly also baffled by Rabobank's strategy.
Yes, really strange that they're trying to close the gap to win the stage... seriously, gratuitous criticism of Rabo tactics doesn't always make sense.

While I don't understand this either i'm at least happy that they're doing something, anything after their bleh Tour performance

I wondered why they put those young guys into 2 GTs a year.

I wouldn't do that. Can break young dudes forever.

They could be shedding riders for Barredo to go for a stage win, he loves this climb.

No matter how much Barredo loves this climb everyone one the planet knows Rodriguez and Anton 'love' it more.

Rabo fans should be happy as it shows that Kruiswijk must be feeling good even though he's lost some time he's confident of getting some time back. It is a good tatic as they'll make a large selection which will pop out the odd weak gc rider. I think 1 of the favourites will go backwards today. It always happens on the first big MTF. Steven could gain some time as well with an attack that the others may not follow.

Or can make them stronger. Look at Nibali, he rode a few times 2 GT a year and he has gotten way stronger

agreed youngest.

kruijswijk said he had great legs yesterday, so maybe he is feeling good again. He showed at suisse he is capable of winning on a mtf, why shouldn't they go for it they feel good.

This isn't necessarily a Rodriguez-climb, I think. More for the tempo climbers.

Seriously, is it possible that Rabo might be riding for a stage win for Kruijswijk? Can he do it?
Or Mollema. Or (God forbid) Luis Leon.

Neither of their climbers would be top favourites to take the stage. It's very hot to have your whole team leading a chase for a pretty marginal chance at a stage win.

If I'm wrong and somehow Rabo win the stage, I will take my hat off to them. But I just can't see it.

Question is for how long can Rabo keep up the pressure.
Garate, Barredo, Slagter, Breschel... all decent climbers, apart from the 3 GC men.

I think Sean Kelly would understand it if Garmin would put their riders on the front for Martin, who hasn't shown anything like Mollema or Kruijswijk in GTs. That's why I don't really rate those Anglophone commentators.

Sorry, For some stupid I thought Barredo's emotional and personal Vuelta win last year was up Sierra Nevada and that's why I said it. I was wrong. Yeah go Anton ftw.

Maybe Goss and Cavendish both had really bad meals?

Both Goss & Cav were late to dinner the other night and so eat alone as everyone else had finished, they obviously had different meals to everyone else.
