If a Rabo somehow manages to win (I know, it's impossible), then Sean Kelly and co will be lost for words.

Yes, really strange that they're trying to close the gap to win the stage... seriously, gratuitous criticism of Rabo tactics doesn't always make sense.Zinoviev Letter said:Sean Kelly also baffled by Rabobank's strategy.

Rabo fans should be happy as it shows that Kruiswijk must be feeling good even though he's lost some time he's confident of getting some time back. It is a good tatic as they'll make a large selection which will pop out the odd weak gc rider. I think 1 of the favourites will go backwards today. It always happens on the first big MTF. Steven could gain some time as well with an attack that the others may not follow.Moondance said:While I don't understand this either i'm at least happy that they're doing something, anything after their bleh Tour performance
Or can make them stronger. Look at Nibali, he rode a few times 2 GT a year and he has gotten way strongerCobblestoned said:I wondered why they put those young guys into 2 GTs a year.
I wouldn't do that. Can break young dudes forever.
This isn't necessarily a Rodriguez-climb, I think. More for the tempo climbers.Moondance said:No matter how much Barredo loves this climb everyone one the planet knows Rodriguez and Anton 'love' it more.
Or Mollema. Or (God forbid) Luis Leon.Christomir said:Seriously, is it possible that Rabo might be riding for a stage win for Kruijswijk? Can he do it?

Garate, Barredo, Slagter, Breschel... all decent climbers, apart from the 3 GC men.roundabout said:Question is for how long can Rabo keep up the pressure.
I think Sean Kelly would understand it if Garmin would put their riders on the front for Martin, who hasn't shown anything like Mollema or Kruijswijk in GTs. That's why I don't really rate those Anglophone commentators.Zinoviev Letter said:Neither of their climbers would be top favourites to take the stage. It's very hot to have your whole team leading a chase for a pretty marginal chance at a stage win.
If I'm wrong and somehow Rabo win the stage, I will take my hat off to them. But I just can't see it.
