For example I only said Quintana dropped JTL 1.5km from the top and even Tiernan-Locke has it's limits. And all of a sudden that's too much criticism for you?

Maybe not over sensitive, just realism. No one mentioned that early on in the posts. Folk were too keen to jump on jtl. I'm just proud of a British climber achieving good things, felt he wasn't getting credit. He set the pace on the climb today. Nothing wrong with highlighting what I see is fair facts?

I'm just pointing out that even El Pisti is not that over-sensitive when somebody says something not 10000% positive about his riders

Ok fair enough. Just wanted to point out Quintana sat on jtl for 7km. We're all entitled to support riders we like. And I think comparing me and el pisti is a bit harsh

With work, not always no. Us Brits don't have many climbers to be proud of, not sure why I should be shot down for it.

I think we can all agree that JTL was clearly the strongest once again and only denied by some EPIC wheelsucking which Levi himself would be proud of. To say otherwise is a refusal to accept facts. I fully expect JTL to crush all in the TT.

So people have been joking about him having taken Gilbert's crown, being a favourite for pretty much any race he wants to win etc. Posts on this thread saying 'even JTL has his limits' are in that spirit, not having a go at him. That's why you seem very over-sensitive.

Maybe that's the case. But I've only read today's thread. And taken jtl from what he is, a continental rider. Not world tour, or pro conti.

According to jtl, for 7km of the climb Quintana sat on jtl and did no work (climb was into headwind) then he attacked a km from the top

You may be right. I was impressed with Pantano's effort in Montepaschi Strade Bianche. He ran out of gas in the last 15km's or so but still a good effort.

So is the hype. Take the good with the bad and roll with it. He's obviously a good rider but the hype was primarily good natured as is the "criticism" as you call it.

This is what I read on the news:

Quintana responded to an attack from Tiernan-Locke on the lower slopes of the final climb, the Cat 1 Alto del Collado Bermejo. The Endura rider made several attempts to drop Quintana but he held firm and eventually cracked the British star with 1 kilometre to go. Quintana was able to maintain his lead on the short descent to the finish, while Poels came from behind and overtook Tiernan-Locke for second place.
