Nibali better bring his climbing boots to the Giro

Landa will get dropped like a stone later in week

No he won't...and he did a very good job keeping Contador & Quintana out of it today
If they are in such form they would have done better than they did...not ot mention all the hype on here as to how Contador would atack from the bottom of the climb ?

Of course Landa could lose it on the TT but we will see

Favourites looked each other.

But no good for Contador interest to lose those 6 second to Henao. The same Quintana

Landa besides to win the stage did a good job for Henao, and allowed him to take time.

People who thought yesterday contador will take today 20 seconds to the rest just were wrong. He is no able to do that, but anyway he was today thinking in other days, and especialy looking at Quintana.

I was talking about Nibali...that's who SeriousSam was talking about as well.

Contador did good today considering its not his most favoured terrain when its that steep so did quintana aswell. Chapou!

I quite like stages like that. I can just keep half an eye on it for most of the coverage and then glue myself to the screen for the last 5 minutes. I love those steep finishes. Landa was blowing out of his **** when they crested the steep section but still managed a sprint. Bodes well for my rubbish CQ team if nothing else.

I honestly can't tell whether you are being ironic or not.....

As far as I'm concerned this is the worst type of stage there is, except for pan flat sprint stages. :p

Quintana, Contador, Kelderman or Pinot is gonna win this. Kelderman needs to hang on on friday's stage though and Quintana needs a gap for the time trial.

2 each of Sky, Lotto-J, FDJ in the top 10. Possibly 5 of the strongest 8 guys between them (sorry, Kirby). Might get a little interesting in both those buses.

It almost seemed like they let Landa win. I know that's not the case, but I think that everyone was watching Contador expecting him to attack, but he just didn't have the legs today.

This stage changes the typical sprint stage of Vitoria-gasteiz, so... an improvement at least, :p

Contador is totally going far with this team... Don't get me wrong, some guys were already alone while he ''still'' had Roman there before the climb, such as Costa (surprise, surprise), but when Cannondale, Etixx, Кatusha and your rival team for your biggest objective of the season all have more than 4 guys in the end while you're virtually alone and, in some cases, not even getting help from your only domestique left, something is not right.

Did they take the time trials out of the route or something?

Landa is riding for Team Sky now. You'd be amazed what proper posture, Wind tunnel optimisations, ditching the sandshoes for real aero shoes and a Sir Dave pep talk can do for a struggling time triallist.

Also, Nibali is a good GT time triallist but he isn't Froome or even Contador.

I think it actually was Valgren, no? At least the danish commentators said so.

But I agree, its troubling, but stages like this in Le Tour Contador will have the best rider in the world - by miles, I might add - at this disposal

Sky played that brilliantly. Not just on the climb but before it as well. Typical for Sergio that he was the strongest but didn't win! I really hope he can win Fleche but I just fear someone (probably Valverde) will have a bigger punch.

No he didn't do good, and yes it's his terrain when he's on form! Remember stage 2 in this same race 2014 when he dropped Valverde in top form by 15sec in just 500m.

Might have been, and if so, I'm sorry Valgren. I shouldn't trust Portuguese commentators. :)

Wouldn't underestimate Quintana in the TT. And maybe Landa and Henao will be able to do a great TT as well
