I find his transition very impressive. I mean, he was quite the crosser, but to already feature in a 3 week GT, being on the attack and acting as a domestique...

Do we need to starts a thread "Lars Boom - how good is he really?" ;)

Ya he has impressed me a lot, If i remember correctly he was just about the last domestique with gesink on friday in the mounatins. Him and weening deserve a spot on the tour team next year imo. Boom has a big future (really wanna see him have a go on the cobbles next year too)

He always did the full year. It's not like he changed from mud to tarmac. He dominated Olympia's tour last year, not an easy race.

But I agree, this is more than impressive.

/edit: Yes, we need that thread :D

Considering how Rabo performed this year, you just might get your wish. Looks like these two could be useful in any GT.

The rab car went past herrero, so probably a gap of >30s

The ticker says 25s

If he doesn't kill himself uphill, he should be able to keep on going in TT mode till the finish. It's all down hill from the top

They're about equal TTers but Boom is more used to the short intense effort from cyclo-cross.

Boom has the stage win. Shame. Would be nice to see them sprint for it, as they're quite equally good sprinters.

Cannot see him losing it from here. He was extreamly strong on that climb.

Now all I wanna see is a JH win and I'm happy !

Why is it a shame? The strongest rider wins. You can't possible be unhappy about that. Boom only increased his lead on the climb.

Rabobank have some seriously impressive young talent in their sqaud.
Hopefully Mollema can have a less troublesome 2010 and show some of his ability next season too.

And Kai Reus? He won a stage in the Tour of Britain the other day didn't he?

Nice win for Boom :)

Congrats to Boom, showed his strength.

Seems to have a lot of form, could have a very decent time trial come stage 20.

PS: he might have just cemented his place in the WC sqaud too

Reus was a huge talent, winning the junior worlds in Hamilton and winning the GP Pino Cerami as an espoir in a pro race (his 1st or 2nd race among real pro's)

After his fall in the Alps he was almost dead and since then it's been unsure if he would ever really recover. If he's really back on track now, both physically and mentally, he will be a force to be reckoned with.

xacobeo is going to take a huge lead in the teams competition after this stage

two riders finishing over 20 minutes ahead, they will go from down 25 minutes to up by over 15

Not really, he was barely more than 3 bike lengths behind, for 1 corner.
