Seems there is no ambush in the making.
Hard to tell now. look at the last 60 kms of the stage.
Yep, but I mean don't see much support in the breakaway to open captains attacks.
this breakaway is pretty don't know how to define , but two things are certain , trentin wanting the points and Visconti helping Nibali ? I just hope so Visconti don't ride for ourself please , Nibali could win the Whole thing

it's great of Trentin to go for the points but it seems impossible for him to get the jersey , he's 30 points behind Froome... but hats of for his effort..

you are right , but the fact that team sky is in front make the breakway favourite to win the stage , and that's a pity

The break were always favourites for the day. Quick Step or Cannondale for the win. Would like to see Trentin get the green back.

Seems like we got our own sky-bot on this forum :s
On-topic: Hopefulle we will see Bahrain go full force on the descent from Carmona - so the skyborgs hit the wall fast on the next climb.

Re: Vuelta Stage 18: Suances → Santo Toribio de Liébana - 16

This is strange. Froome finally shows signs of weakness but instead of keeping the pressure on they seem to give him a restday. Ofc the race still could get harder on the last 60 k but usually a team like bahrein wouldn't give the break 11+ minutes if they plan something big today.

Still possible for Alberto to send guys up the road on the first or second climb. #prayforcarnage

I can't believe Froome's rivals are stupid enough to let this stage play out like this until the final climb, would be a huge lost opportunity.

There will be a second series of break attempts for the big stuff don't worry
but with the big breakaway at 12 minutes it's impossible to the new break to bridge the old one and make more damage

Don't you think yesterdays stage might have took something out of them too

And people wonder why Sky are strong in the mountains - Sky will always ride a Sunday arvo tempo on the flat in mountain days ( if allowed ) - Teams are tactically naive.

Seeing 7 Sky riders doing all but push Froome up the final climb yesterday was comedy gold.

Froome may or may not be weakening but Sky is surely still strong.

of course what i want to say that if team sky go slow before a mountain every other teams will do the same , but in the mountains they are better because they have the better climbers or somebody like Puccio or Moscon or Thomas
