i really like ttt is much more fair than itt , why Quintana who weight 53 kg has to compete one on one against froome who weight 67 or 66 or 65?

Eh ? Why should anyone over 65KG have to compete with Quintana in the mountains ....your logic is biased
as i said don't put Mountains in grand tour and the history of Grand tours is nothing think about it

His 53 kg also help him in the mountains, so what is your point?
hello in the mountain froome has his domestique to choo choo him so the ONE ON ONE is to 4 km , while the tt is for 40 km ,i think this is not fair and you?
Do you really think in a MTT with 40 km, quintana would won 3 minutes on froome?

Yeah and if we removed mountain stages guys like Cancellara and Martin probably would've won multiple GTs
exactly if you remove the mountain stages GRAND tours are dead , but i think that if you reduce the impact of tt , not saying that they need to be remove but put at best 30 km in tt total flat , that's fair not 70 km

Are you a fan of some riders who can't be bothered to learn one of the disciplines of the sport, by any chance?

Contador and Nibali are great cyclists because they can TT along with climbing brilliantly and knowing how to descend and place themselves correctly in flat stages.

that's a misunderstanding history of grand tours is not tt or mtt are mountain stage with multiple mountains in it , there is where history of Grand tour was made , when i remember the stage of tour 1998 with pantani attack on galibier THAT'S HISTORY

If Quintana feels that's unfair, he could always follow the example of his compatriot named Carlos. Some good diet and he could match Froome's weight.

Geez you just put up some interesting information and its unbeleiveable how upset people get

Nibali ahead of Froome if no TTs is interesting and says alot about climbs to come ...that is all....dont get your knickers in a twist people

(Also says Nibali needs a better team btw)

What? There are nowhere near as many TT km in GTs these days as there have been in past years, which suits a lot of the one dimensional climbers. The tour this year had 36km of TT or something like that. That's nothing.

First TDF: 1903
First mountain stage in TDF: 1905
First ITT stage in TDF: 1934

TT's in GTs are an afterthought
many thanks , this close the question tt are an afterthought CLIMBS are history

So the first ITT in GT history was used before Hitler invaded Poland but you call that an "afterthought."

TT's are something that should be in every single GT, just like mountains should be in every GT. The first time they were used is irrelevant.

I'd rather call it the development or evolution of the sport.[/quote]
look this year vuelta you can make history in the climbs not in tt , and as i sadi i would like a ttt of 80 km that's fair not itt of 60 km
