Looks like a girl had to be rescued in Angliru (I don't know what happened):

From the text 'Girl with no brakes' it's not difficult to imagine.
Sad news on this: the girl has died from the wounds of her accident. She was descending over la Cueña les Cabres, lost control and hit a wall.

What a horrible way to finish a day :(

Definitely the hardest Grand Tour I've done Thanks for the amazing support over the past 3 weeks. It's been emotional! #LV2017 #lavuelta

Great stage. Chapeau Alberto. Couldn't ask for a better way to finish your career. :)

I am still upset with Lopez descending. I guess he didn't want to risk it after the history of crashes he has had in the past. Something he will need to improve in a hurry if he wants to win something big.

Nibali actually fell for real, he tweeted:

"Hello guys, wanted to reassure you on my status after the fall, some scratches and pain in the ribs! For tomorrow I'll grit my teeth!"

Most probably was up the road with Contador when it happened, cause he was immediately back in the peloton after the crash.
Doesn't really matter I feel Froome was untouchable today.
He can only blame himself for that. He was playing with fire there.

Knowing Froome, he will do anything possible to keep the sprinting jersey.

EDIT: Just saw the post about the girl who died. So sad. RIP.

It also illuminates the incredible dangers that the cyclists go through every racing day.

What happened to him, did he crash?

No. Lopez said he had a 'scare' with his bike handling in the downhill from previous crashes (re: not in this race, but earlier this year and in his career), so he lost a lot of time.

Then it was impossible to come back alone on the Cordal since the pace was so high and he was already a minute behind, so he had to do it all on own pace up until the finish

Nibali never whines when he crashes, unlike Froome.

So, it wasn't a gift

Of course it's not a gift. When did Sky and Froome gifted anything to anybody? Froome doesn't gift stages to teammates, let alone to biggest rivals. They only pushed when Nibali dropped, until then Poels was on alert for possible shark attack.
