Orica might also be worse than past years because other teams started focussing more on the TTT, while Orica had the advantage of a lot of track riders who are used to riding close to each other on those bikes.

An anchor is something that is meant to stop you from moving, so I thought Phinney's words were quite funny too.

Anyway, yesterday happened like I expected - except for the last quarter.
I expected BMC to start enthusiastically and fast, and fade towards the end, and Etixx to overtake them there. It seemed to be happening exactly like that, with their lead at the third intermediate down to 5.5 seconds, but then somehow they pulled it back together and even gained more ground again, despite losing riders earlier and having to do the entire climb and finishing straight with 4 guys. I was really surprised with how that unfolded.

Yep, I should have been more light-hearted about it

I thought Kwiatowski's pull on that climb looked much faster than Dennis' so I was surprised to see BMC end up gaining so much time on that climb.
