I don't know if the rest of the world heard the story, but since 2006, when Americans hear "Duke LaCross players" we think of three guys accused of raping a student/stripper/dancer/escort.

If he's implying that he's being wrongly accused of something, it's interesting that this is the example he chose, since Landis & another former teammate told the stripper story last year, and there are rumors about more.

The guy congratulates a USADA investigation into things that Sports Illustrated said, and uses his little alter ego account to taunt with this stuff?

Well, if he does speak with the former Lacrosse players, they'll tell him that eventually, the truth will come out. Don't think that'll give him much comfort.

It's not a case he should compare to. It's ugly & rape is not funny. The players were innocent of rape but were guilty of racism and extreme behaviour bordering on sexual assault. Is this where Lance really wants to go? Sports Illustrated jumped the gun on the story of rape but Lance don't go there. It was hardly a victory they got off the rape charge.

Or maybe you want to ask them how angry they were when they wanted a white stripper but got a "xxxxxx"?

Point taken but it was a direct quote from what was said on the night.

The point stands. Privileged white college boys upset about getting a black stripper for their frat party. There are no winners from a story like that. It's all
so ugly. If Armstrong is looking for an injustice he won't find it in that story.

The difference between Tiger and Lance here (I am speculating on the speculation) is that Lance probably knows that to keep a Ho quite you let them keep the gutter dust. That why they call it "incentive", yo .

Hence, did she write it during the pre-trial motions, or as Nifong was being reprimanded? Did she ever write anything follow up, or comment on the situation after Nifong had been discredited, or disbarred? Did she ever mention that AG Cooper had originally dropped the case and was at odds with Nifong, or did she willfully ignore this key fact?

Also, what specifics in the LA article make you believe that Roberts is being presumptuous or impartial, and can you draw lines between that, and the Duke LaCrosse case?

Nope - Tigers transgressions were first aired in the National Enquirer, which was dismissed as it lacks credibility with everyone ..... except Mrs Woods, which lead to the car crash and it was this that got the MSM digging.

Sorry Alpe I just was looking for a connection between Lance's tweet and the Duke Lacrosse players and Selena Roberts was it. I was not looking to discredit her or the Lance article.I did look for a link to her column but had no success until today. It was in the NY Times March 31, 2006. but you have to register to view it.

Since I spent weeks bashing JV, I want to go on record as giving the old FU to Greg Strock. Greg may have filed a lawsuit, but in the end, he took hush-money. Call it whatever you like, but I call it hush-money.

Not to mention the time Strock spent with the Banesto amateur farm team. Is it at all possible they could have fed him something? For the record I'm not defending Wenzel/Carmichael its just when I first heard about this and knowing people that knew Strock it looked like he was looking for deep pockets and some attention. He seem to think he would have been as good or nearly as good as LA.

Would it have been better if more of Carmichael's record was made public? Sure. It's pretty easy to ding the guy with hindsight. By that time, Carmichael could have litigated him into bankruptcy. And then what?

It looks like Strock, Erich ???, and others have moved on. I bet there's plenty of useful info. Maybe there's a way they can use their experience to help change the system? I know it's not what you want, but I think it would be a decent compromise.
