I would of said Festina were dirtier then Postal, or at least stupid enough to get caught with the drugs. At this stage I will give San Millan the slightest benefit of the doubt (not by much though), as I think it is possible to be a doctor on a team and not be dodgy, as as there were clean rider/s (I heard Halgand was the other clean rider) on Festina.

Define "dodgy". You mean like someone that knows things are going on, but goes along with the program to keep his job? Or someone who's a doctor yet isn't smart enough to see the signs of doping on some of the all-time dirtiest teams? Or someone who merely mouths the anti-doping line because he's seen the market value of such a move?

There is no scenario in which Millan is fit for a team like Garmin claims to be.

Milan is a sports scientist PHD right? Is Prentace Staffan still their GP?

I think Milan was on either NY Velocity or CN about 2 months back, a little spin. He was doing work at a uni in Denver yeah?

Lim is above board and totally legit. You seem a bit bitter though.

ONCE is probably the dirtiest team in History, behind US Postal of course. This means we will never see JV talking on these forums again. It looks like he has made his decision about the future of Garmin.

hang on, the guy is a doc of physiology, he aint a medical professional. JV got him for the Lim position.

In defense of Lim, he also aint a GP, he a sports boffin. Come on, there is a difference. But I concede, the best "docs' have often been the swannies like Freddy Vianne or whatever his name is.

San Millan will retain his position as the Director of the Exercise Physiology and Human Performance lab at the University of Colorado. Everything I have read would indicate he is he is the sports science side of things. To quote the front page article:

His first appointment with the team will be a training camp in Valencia in January. There he will carry out the first physiological tests of riders, a process that will continue throughout the season. "We'll be collecting data from the riders every single day [of the season]. We want to create a network that will ensure no rider gets left behind. A lot of riders overtrain and with 27 riders it was a bit much for one person. Now with four of us and Robbie Ketchell helping out with the bio-mechanics, we'll be able to cover a lot more bases."

That is why I give him the benefit of the doubt.

on the contrary.

I was clearing up this board's misconception. It is en mass conflating a GP who have prescriptions to controlled drugs, to Lim and Millan, who are sports docs, and not registered medico's.

Ofcourse, all should be sceptical, and all those working should be exposed to the scepticism.

But Lim and Millan are not GP's or MD's, whatever nomenclature you use in your nationality.

ONCE and Banesto and USPS had the Spanish GP's. Those guys should be stayed away from. I think Bouygues got a Spanish doc back in early '08. One who had been thru a few teams.

Who really thinks Lim is supple w/ hypodermics? That to me is a big stretch, and goes into conspiracy. Lim is great with the boffin stuff. Let him work with that. He is not like Ferrari with a background in blood. But if you want to tell me Lim does not know what goes on, and what goes on with riders under him, that also is a stretch. Details, perhaps not. Like JV, keep a couple of degrees of separation.

Agreed!

I think it's more than a stretch :D My main issues with Lim are his *** comments on doping being similar to placebo. Given today's doping methods, me thinks he needs to give his head a shake.
