What do Kreuziger and Scarponi have in common?

they are hated by fanboy/fan girls for what they have done to insult the fan's idols

I hope Scarponi doesn't find this out. He will be crushed, and he would probably be so distraught that his bad form will continue for 3 weeks.

There is a significant difference: Alberto finished the race, Chicken didn't.
But he accepted the yellow jersey straight away, IIRC. Compare to Savoldelli, who didn't wear the pink jersey after Pantani was kicked out of the 1999 Giro.

(Although that might have been to protect himself from insane tiffosi)

Well said.

What if the stuff with Rasmussen came out after the Tour ended?

I guarantee you she would definitely be celebrating Contador`s win as a fan and she would`nt be calling Rasmussen a victim either.

That's right, and this whole thread has taken a turn for the worse. You cannot rationalize with this delusional person, but we always take the bait because we all just cannot believe somebody could be so clueless.

Your problem, maybe after this read:

you'll think differently?

Ehm......... How is that supposed to make me think differently?

What did you like about Scarponi if I might ask? In nothing to compare with your idol. Quit a boring rider in fact, lots of character but still, quit boring.

I like all Italians and Spaniards unless they do things that make me no longer able to like them.

Hey Moderators. How about shutting this thread down? What started off as a discussion regarding Scarponi's fitness has degenerated into a fanboy/girl, anti-fanboy/girl squabble over Contador.

He rode the stage after Rasmussen was kicked out in the white jersey, instead of the yellow one.

True, my bad.

I don't think that changes much in the great scheme of things though.

Edit: although:
Alberto Contador (Discovery Channel) spent his first day ever in the race leadership of the Tour but he was strangely not wearing the coveted maillot jaune. Tour de France organisers decided this morning that no-one would wear the yellow jersey after its former wearer Michael Rasmussen left the Tour in disgrace after being fired by his Rabobank team for lying about his whereabouts leading up to the Tour.

So a real fanboy who isn't able to read. An ex - fan of Scarponi, he won't like to read that when he logs on to CN forum.

In three weeks time Michele will win his second Giro, especially for you.

Had Rasmussen won on the rode I would have always seen him as the winner, but he didn't finish...besides he never tested positive! I was rooting for him, he was showing himself as the 'strongest'. But AC probably would have won it in the ITT, anyway we'll never know.

Back to Scarponi, he was entitled to wear #1 I have no beef with that. Plus I hope he rides the race worthy of the number on his back.

Why hate on Scarponi? After all, what would we do in his position? You're an Italian pro, who's slogged their guts out to finish a distant 2nd in your home race. Due to circumstances beyond your control you have been elevated to 1st place.

Do you really refuse to accept that maglia rosa?

And, having accepted that maglia rosa, having not worn it once, why wouldn't you wear it for the prologue... just for the chance to be an Italian wearing the maglia rosa? It doesn't matter how he got to wear it, as an Italian, rolling off the start ramp wearing the maglia rosa is a big thing for him. I don't begrudge him it. Whether you agree or disagree with the decision, it's not his fault.

Ha. I'm more than able to read. May I ask you, where are you from? Maybe you're not a native speaker.

Michele will maybe win his first Giro title. I'm cheering for Basso.

Let me put it this way, if he had just said that he's happy and that he sees it as his win because the winner ended up being a filthy doper, I would have had no problem with him accepting the jersey + trophy. Thing is, that he apparently does not think that way.

Do you have any ****ing comprehension skills?

Terms like omerta, spitting in the soup, and blatant hypocrisy are reasons on the other side of your base interpretation of why Scarponi acts the way he acts. The actions of the second place riders that lose because of dopers is the most obvious example (outside of the AAF's) of the prevalent attitude, culture, and actions of the peloton.

Right on airstream :)

Especially compared to some of the posts on this thread you surely don't deserve any grief for that post!
