I would enjoy if the 3 Jumbos would get together and decide (without team input) to ride as perfect teammates until the foot of Angliru, but then have a no-holds-barred match race on the climb and then see where they stand. That still could favor Kuss because of the steepness of the climb but at least would Roglic and Vingegaard were’t completely “held back” for the entire race.

Of course, the team would never agree.
I would love to see this, and I bet Sepp would more than hold his own.

In all seriousness, Kuss is most likely and Vingegaard least likely of the Jumbos to win. Why else would they chase down that break in Stage 15 with Vingegaard, Soler and Vlasov? Either they don't feel confident that Vingegaard is in the shape to last the 3rd week and/or they want to try for a Kuss win.

It’s too bad for us as viewers and for the race dynamic that Remco didn’t try to minimize his losses on the Tourmalet stage the way Almeida did (maybe it wasn’t possible). If Remco was 5 minutes back but also back to full strength, Jumbo would still want to cover his attacks and that would animate the race more and create more fluidity in the Jumbo trio hierarchy.

Maybe there's still hope that JV will try to crack Kuss with alternating Jonas' and Primoz's attacks, just like they cracked Pog during Granon stage :p

Don't forget he didn't ride for GC in either the Giro or Tour; not that that still isn't an incredible amount of hard riding but it should make a difference. He's a robust guy, recovers very well, and so far it seems like all the racing has suited him very well because he is flying. That said, there is a long way to go and the third week is still very hard. A big factor is frankly, as I said in Sepp's thread, it would be hard to imagine being in the leaders jersey at the end of the second week in a better position than he is. Pretty nice time buffer, two teammates either there to work for him or pick up the slack if he has a bad day. And if he DOES have the bad day, who except the usual suspects on here who irrationally hate the guy are going to blame him? He's got 2 2/3rds GC's in his legs; it wouldn't be a huge shock if he fades. He's got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

For me, he looks GREAT right now, happy, relaxed, and strong, and Ayuso was just quoted as saying he thinks Sepp is the strongest TJV guy. I believe he's going to do it.
Firstly, I haven't noticed comments from anyone here who hates Sepp, maybe just annoyed at Jumbo's dominance? But as pointed out to me this week, he wasn't on any polls here about possible winners so that speaks volumes for how strong he and Jumbo-Visma are.

Secondly, whilst he didn't ride for GC at the Giro (14th @13'09") and Tour (12th @ 37'02") Kuss did finish high on GC. He didn't finish mountain stages in the autobus. In the Tour he finished close on every mountain stage except stage 20 when he dropped 20 minutes. In the stage 16 TT which Vingegaard demolished even Pog, Kuss finished 14th losing only 3'30". That doesn't sound like he was saving his legs?

If he was fighting Roglic and Vingegaard it might be different. But he's in such great shape and looks so fresh leading his 3rd grand tour of the season it is without doubt incredible. We should also remember this is the first time he has been in a position to target GC. He is 28 and in the physical prime of his grand tour life. But lets see what happens on Altu de l’Angliru.

No, because if JV attacked their own teammates they might succeed.
It's just a memory but I have a scenario where LeMond is given the go ahead, maybe premature or against the wishes of a cracked or cracking Hinault..and can recall all the BS between Armstrong and Contador because they were not clear on a plan..
in club racing even in Cat2 not uncommon to see your " teammates " chasing you down and later explaining that they didn't know and are really (not) sorry..

Depends how literal you're being. Assuming you're meaning 'here' as in 'in this thread'... well, I hate Sepp and I've commented here, I just haven't commented about hating Sepp here.
