So, which one? The one on the left or the one on the right?

Can't we have one of each Daddy? I'll share my giant salami with them!

The one on the left looks mildly disgusted; the one on the right looks nervously frightened.

The one in the middle is proudly day-dreaming.

Yeah, but if his dream came true, they'd probably bust him for too much testosterone.

If I was the organizer of a race, I would hire a bevy of RuPaul type trannies for my podium 'girls'. First off, this would act as a comment on the sexism inherent in the sports world. (Of course, if I was concerned about that so much, I would have organized a women's race, but, really, come on.) Secondly, can you imagine the amusing visuals of, say, Levi Leipheimer flanked by a pair of Amazons? (Obviously, this sounds pretty far-fetched- Levi on a podium!!- but it could happen. Not for an actual win, of course, but maybe the most aggressive rider award. :p)

Well in terms of good looking girl's eastern europe is hardly beatable anyway. So iam going with Tour of Poland:D

i hope you realise that the role of this thread is not to answer the question of "who has the best podium girls" but to encourage the discussion (and evidence) of the phenomenon of podium girls. to answer the question would hasten the termination of the thread. furthermore it would be impossible to answer the question, with any accuracy, without years of study.

i propose that to further your understanding of the thread you re read it from the start. :D

If Levi makes the podium he would be flanked by Amazons based on stature alone. You'll have to imagine that from here on out, though.

Actually, on second thought, we may be a bit unfair here. I mean, they do have podium girls at the Tour of the Gila and at that crit in Nevada that Armstrong won, don't they?

Mods don't like it when I cast aspersions upon men's orientation. So I am taking a vow of silence on LL's preference for who he would like on the podium.

Wow, I've never heard this theory bandied about. That Montana is the most convincing 'beard' ever, isn't she?

That is not a crit in Nevada!! It's the Nevada City Classic over 50 years worth. Won multiple times by the most winning bike racer in US history Scott Moniger. Super fast and hard race. Lance did this race a few times I think he was only top step once in 2009.

Wow!...'the most winning bike racer in US history'. Kinda reminds me of Kevin Costner's character in 'Bull Durham'- the all time homerun king...of the minor leagues.

as long as you wanna give him a larger than life title. The guy was not that big and could really generate power. He was a good crit rider..but anything with a huge mountain he was sure to be in the selection. I think he made lots of bad career choices staying with domestic squads. He should have rode for a European team. He would have never won as many races with the better races and racers but he would have had some results. We only have a few dozen great American racers and he is one of them.

If your dig was that US racing is minor league the cut is lost because I agree. I have raced all over, including at a few Gamecock races. Glad you could include a historic figure like Bull Durham. SC is a beautiful state. Lots of great beaches, fantastic food and breathtaking women. I have raced in the half dozen micro towns you call cities. All of them clean, loaded with friendly smiling southerners. Your state specializes in non-elite races w NC a close second. Return the pro race championship to Philly where it belongs. Import some SC babes to present the awards it's a good compromise.
