Who is the best time trialist / Andy «*the little Boss*» Schleck or Nibali?

I find Nibali tt skills a little overated.. In 2009 Andy beat him in the 40kms Tour time trial...In 2010, Vincenzo struggled to gain time on Mosquera in the Vuelta and he never do a really great time trial.

On the other hand, Andy has a 6th place in a giro final tt and top20 in tour tt.

I do a pronostic : if Nibali finally do the Tour this year, he will not gain time on Andy in the time trial!!

Ps: I think Frank Sckleck is weaker than Nibali in the time trial. It s important to say that.

Personally I think Nibali is overrated on his timetrialing abilities and Andy somewhat underrated. So I do think aswell Andy will beat Nibali in the time trials, Fränk is definitely the weaker of the two in the timetrial department.

P.S. Andy "The Little Boss" -> what?

My opinion is that Andy, with Bruynel knowledge, will become the new Boss of the peloton (like Armstrong ten years ago).

Generally speaking, neither's ITT is good enough to win Le Tour. Although I suspect we'll see a typical Bruyneel increase in the Schleck's TTing ability this year

"the little boss" that's cringe inducing. I don't care how deep he gets in with the hog, he'll never be a man let alone a "boss". You should change it to Andy "the little boy" Schleck.

I pray to all the cycling gods that this never happens.:(

Why not?

I choose "the big boss" Nibali

That's obvious.

I chose Nibs as well. Btw, please, pretty please, could one of the mods remove the "little boss" thingy? It makes me cringe really hard. Thanks.

Nibali is technically the better time trialist... has a better TT position, better at cornering, better at turning a big gear. But Andy has the bigger engine and better recovery, so at the end of a GT, he'll beat Nibali 9 out of 10 times in a long TT.

F*cking hell... remove "the little boss"

he will never be a boss in the peloton, he just doesn't have the attributes for it.

on topic: Tour - even, in other events Nibali

Nibali was indeed a little disappointing in the time trials last year but no way he's worse than Andy Schleck. On a completely flat TT I think Nibali would put about a minute on Andy, but the difference would be minimal on a more hilly TT such as the one in Grenoble this year.

In 2010 Nibali put 2 minutes into Frank Schleck in the vuelta ITT, even though Nibali had a puncture. Andy isn't that much better than Frank in the TTs.

Well, true.. But LBL has not had that many TT's recently... which leaves us with one race left for them to compeed against eachother - the Tour.

nibali. even tho he wasn't in top shape for the vuelta itt he still did very well in it and did a great ride today in san luis. he clearly trained his itt.

andy can say what he wants but i don't trust his "i will work on *insert some aspect of cycling*" claims so i doubt his itt will improve that much if at all

Might as well close this thread after Nibali's 2nd in today's ITT.
It's only after 20 k that the trouble starts for Nibali. He'll probably do better anywhere, including in the Tour prologue. But in those two long TTs? I'm not sure, certainly not about the final one.

losing a minute to wiggins while arguably not on top shape over a 50k flat itt isn't that bad imo. he seems to have improved tbh
