Pozzovivo period.

Froome won a sprint against Alberto in Oman, so Contador is a better candidate ;)

The attack at 1m 30 above, no question Froome is not the slowest.

That's uphill  I'm not saying he's the worst sprinter in the peloton, in fact I think he is quite good these days, but a MTF doesn't say anything about sprinting abilities. Contador has a very strong acceleration uphill but can't do anything on the flat.

Juan Antonio Flecha was extremely slow too.

True, but anyone, including Contador, who can accelerate like that uphill is unlikely to be literally "the slowest in the peloton".

Contador has also done well in short prologues where you are sprinting in and out of corners all the time.

Which riders of the peloton dont have a chance of winning a sprint in a group of 4-5 riders?

Contador comes to my mind. Never seen him outsprint someone!

That's just being Contadoriasist.

I reckon Froome ,,,,rubbish sprinter

Froome much better than Contador at sprinting, he even uses the drops! :p
Wout Poels is still faster than Froome though. They were trainong together in South Africa when Wout beat Chris in a sprint excersise.

Pozzovivo actually beat lots of people in yesterday's sprint in Catalunya. And some of them were at least trying.
So I don't think it's a closed case.

He is just following a wheel, speed was high as the road went slightly downhill, there were small gaps (nothing big but, hard to come from behind in a sprint like that) in the peloton before the sprint started. Wouldn't really look in this result.

Check sprints like these, where he cant hold the wheel.

There are really plenty of times where he has lost 2-3 seconds in the final sprint when he comes in with a small group. He seems to be have gotten a little better but he still is really slow.

Max Sciandri - he was a good sprinter.

Made me laugh when Chavenel took out Griepel in the Tour and claimed he was working for his teams sprinter Haussler.

Don't get me wrong Haussler can sprint but he his no out and out sprinter.

I would like to nominate Stijn Vandenbergh

Finally. I thought I was the only one thinking of him when I read the thread title. Look at his results last year at some of the cobbled classics. He was always last out small group sprints. Maybe the main reason why he should never be captain. He can't win against anyone in a sprint.

He should outsprint Pozzovivo in a two man sprint but I can't imagine any situation that how they would sprint together to the line. :D

I'd love to see Vandenbergh trying to draft Pozzovivo!
