Only 3 summit finishes? Does it need to be more than that?
9/10 -> Summit finish = boring race until 5km from finish

most people make the same argument about sprint stages. Whole TDF to be hosted in Belgium next year?

Big climb 50km from the finish = boring race from start to finish.

Couple of finishes on a descent, however, should bring some entertainment i.e. Nibbles + Samu attacking, Andy crying in the post-race interview.

No love for Vanendert in this poll btw?

rather him than Frankie
Why on earth would Vanendert win the Tour?
JVDB might be a long shot, but still much more 'logical' choice than Vanendert

Indeed. Problem in this tour is not only 3 MTF, but only 4 real mountain stages

(although the 'low' mountain stages seem really cool)

I don't who will win, but I think very unlikely that Wiggins would finish ahead of Evans.

This will be a boring edition like the 2009 tour. Then at least we had the lance Vs Bertie antics. We may need some good antics by the Schleck bros and Bruyneel to liven up this year's edition

There are 2 MTFs of full value, I'd say. La Toussuire plus Planche-des-Belles-Filles and Peyragudes jointly can be counted as one more.

He's been in brilliant form and no-one really looks like beating him. It's just a guess though, I wouldn't be surprised if he finished down the list. I mean, who really had Ryder down for winning the Giro? High place sure, but not the win.

sure if i'm in Vegas Ill take the under

Well, unsurprising that so many people vote for Wiggo. Definetely, he has showed himself by far better than anyone else this season. Although, somewhat looking at the poll results one word comes into my mind - marketing. Nibali's win is a mono scientific fantasy at all.

I will wait until after Dauphine and Suisse to make my choice. Is Menchov riding either? Any news on his knee? As of now it appears Wiggins/Evans should be the hot favorites.

In my dreams Nibali wins, but I'd never be foolish enough to select him a winner. Will pray he podiums!

Well, one of the MTF's is only 5km long, so it's certainly not an improvement ;)

But still, two proper mountain stages is far too little in GT, especially with a 100km time trialing.

Anyway, I voted Wiggins as well. Him and Evans are the only favorites on this route, and Wiggins has been looking extremely good all season. I really hope a climber will win with some crazy attacks in the mountains, but that doesn't seem likely.

Where is Valverde?

A few of the guys on your list don't stand a chance against him.

Yea, I read the poll list and couldn't vote for any of them because Valverde was missing, he's in top secret training so you know he's gonna come back on fire! Most likely will win a few stages along the way not just roll in with the leaders ala the modern age bore feast.

Couldn't vote for Evans, as he needs to fulfill my prophecy that he's the next Sastre. :p

This would definitely make for the most exciting racing. The only way Andy can win this is by going bat-**** crazy in the mountains, and--if he does that--he'll have a new fan. :)

But. As you note, that's unlikely to happen. For more see example A: The Giro.

A Nibali win would be awesome, too, because it'd likely come from the favorites soft-pedaling up climbs and then Nibs smoking them on the descents. :p

ASO counts the Peyresourde + descent + Peyragudes as one climb. If you do it's certainly harder than La Toussuire. If you don't..... then yes I can see your point.

I would love it if Gesink won, but I have a feeling it is going to be Wiggins. As long as it isn't a Shleck I will be content with the result.

Sanchez will win because he is a super duper allround rider and only factors outside of his control can stop him.
