I do think he could really try on Le Manie, jokes aside...
He has no other chances to drop Sagan or Canc. he certainly don't give a f*ck to a podium, so if he wants to win this is his only option. Attack, pick a dozen other riders along the road (Santambrogio would be an excellent pick, for example) and just go all out.
If I were his DS (or if I were Vino :D) this is what I'd tell him anyway.

Scarponi wasnt that bad in PN. Please god let him do what he did in 2011 only this time starting from the peloton and not the 2nd group on the road 2 minutes back

Nice to see , someone remembers that.

I wonder if sagan will keep an eye on thor or would he just mark cancellara

race will tell, after 250K Sagan pretty much will have an idea who are going very well, so are other riders

Sagan needs a lot of help, in the final kms.
To be honest, I can't see him winning this, with Nibali, Cancellara, Pozzato and others likely to attack him one after another.
I also doubt, Moser will be strong enough for both, Cipressa and Poggio.

Dont you think the likes of cancellara, pozzato, hushovd and gilbert will cooperate to drop sagan then once he's dropped, the remaining will work against cancellara?

I can hardly see a whole group of top guns going clear from Sagan. If this happens and there will be a select group of maybe Cancellara, Pozzato, Gilbert, Hushovd, the normal outcome of a sprint would be much more open, than we had it with Gerrans and Nibali last year. The others would commit as well. All in all, I do think, Cancellara is in a better position than last year, with this top quality peloton.
