Tony should really learn how to handle a bike. His power files are incredible but watching him going through turns keeps sending me shivers. Even his coach makes fun of him occasionally...

Does anybody remember the ITT in Pais Vasco this year ? Martin was so afraid of the corners and so ****ed after the race... If he's so afraid of the corners he should use alloy rims for better braking power...

Or those Magura brakes?

Wiggins can win this now, I won't mind. :p

He did put in a huge load of work at the road race, so he'll have deserved it I guess. Just wish he shaved his sideburns.

What is the word on Tony - I assumed he just dropped out to look after his own medal chances - was it actually an injury?

I just assumed he was still being affected by the one he had at the Tour.

He twitted that he is in the hospital waiting for the x-ray result. He seems heartbroken.

Thanks Cancellator. Hope the big man gets himself sorted. I firmly believe he will be OK. A terrible looking fall and the way his body was twisted when he herocially jumped back on the bike looked very awkward. A hospital in London ? We all would have to wait weeks for a result. Being an Olympian must have free BUPA membership benefits.

Cancella out, Tony struggling, Wiggo and Froom tired.
In the end might we see a suprise and an outsider like Chavannel will take this?

Still think it's for Wiggins, but Sanchez is another outsider for the podium in current form.

Sucks that he crashed, even more so that he crashed on the same side he broke in flanders, that doesn't bode well for starting the TT.

Or maybe Phinney? A 4th in the road race should give him some confidence for the TT, and he's had plenty of time to recover after the Giro.

his and Martin's injuries open up a lot of possibilities for the likes of Phinney, van Garderen, Lulu Sanchez, Chava, etc thats for sure. contending for silver and bronze most likely, but still

I am hoping Phinney will get some belief out of today.
