we haven't seen hardly any of Wigans yet this year. the important stuff like consistency and recovery ability remain to be seen, yes? We already have a good idea of what he should do but todays ITT has I think shown that we cant predict the level froome and wigans are at until we see all theyve got. i heard a rumor that froome softpedaled the timetrial today to save himself for helping the team captain lololol.

that said I think its

froome>AC>wigans>Nibali>schleck>hejedal

But who will challenge Contador in 2023?
.

:p This reminds me, I was checking odds for la Vuelta and I came across this; "Alberto to win le Tour before 2020" at 4/7, but for a sec I thought "Alberto to win le Tour in 2020" :p

And yet we've seen enough for him to have a more successful year than Contador has ever had :)

Personally, if this and the Vuelta is Froome just recovering from illness, then imagine what he'll be like with full preparation. It'll be like the 2006 Giro!

1st Contador
2nd Andy
3rd Froome*

*If he can remain under the radar.

Expect lots of mountains in the 100th.

Let's get not too worried about Wiggins' climbing. It's true he didn't get dropped, but almost everyone else crashed, flatted or had another form of bad luck. Rein Taramee almost finished with the heads of the state

Regardless of parcours, Contador. A reminder that Wiggins hasn't won a GT to date.

Maybe people are stuck in the past here. I can't see either Schleck or Contador putting minutes into Wiggins in the mountains. That type of riding happens less and less in the big tours these days, and it forgets what a great climber Wiggins now is in any event.

What we've seen from Wiggins today, smashing cancellara in the TT, has taken it to a new level. The only time AC beat FC in a TT was by a second, there was a big hill in the middle of the course, and it was in the different era or the sport (ah hem). AC is almost certainly going to lose big time to Wiggins and will struggle to get it back. Plus no team out there is as good as sky. Saxo bank can't compete.

What makes this year different from what you classify as this "different era of the sport"?

Wiggins with 15 mins to 2nd place.

He only ride with slow pace, didnt you remember ?? so what will happen when goes full out..

With his form, I expect Wiggins to win next stage in 2012 with 4 mins and 2013 with 16 mins on Contador.

Thats unless Contador gets to eat the same beef as Sky.

There's TT of 20-25 km next year I think.

The problem is I like the two ITT, but you need one brutal mountain stage but I like the parcours.

There are stages to trap Sky but the problem are the helpers of Cadel and Nibali. They can't do alone if they are outnumbered by Froome and Wiggo. You need to make an alliance or have useful helpers. While Cadel and Nibali still think they are fighting for the same goal there is no chance.

(Can you believe van Garderen, the best mountain goat for Cadel, in theory is no seen on mountain and today pulls a TT at the level of Cancellara:mad: or perhaps the old farts of Scmyz and Basso doing tourism while the youngers helpers were wasted for a 4th in the Giro:eek:).

I guess Bjarne with the russian money improve the team they have now.

With a route like this year's - Wiggins by a huge margin.

With a better, more balanced route - Alberto.

A balanced route would be one which gave them an equal chance. That's what want, don't we?

I caveat that by saying Wiggins has yet to win a TT heavy GT. Let's see how he does over the next week and a half before we start making him a favourite over Contador.

No that is not what I want and no a balanced route is with as much climbing as TT so Alberto gains a lot more time in the mountains than Wiggo gains in TT.

Just balanced. As much TT as this year needs 4 mtf, 7 mountain stages.
