Why so many ppl will think Uran will go to Giro?

Tour will have most likely same if not more TT kms. Plus he went to OPQS where he could could lead at the Tour, his dream.

And even better for him this year since big names seemingly attempting the Giro Tour double.

I have no idea, either. Uran has earned his TDF spot by now, one would think. I fully expect him to target the Tour next year. Kwiatkowski could ride the Vuelta instead, if he's open to that idea, or they could both be in OPSQ's Tour team.

The only issue may be Cavendish. He obviously doesn't want Uran around.

He will decide between the Giro and the Tour after he has seen the Tour route.

Why? It's not like Uran won't ride just because Contador is in the race.

Nevermind, I read it at first as Contador being there meant Nibali wouldn't be a contender.

Surely Kwiatkowski will ride the Tour. I think it's fine for Uran to aim for the Giro again and the parcours suit him very well.

Thanks. The Giro it is, then.

One of the reasons he joined OPQS was to be their TDF GC leader, as Gloin22 mentioned above. Now it seems that they'll make him target the Giro once again. He could kill Contador in the ITT, sure, but ultimately he'd be fighting for second yet again. Or he can hope that Contador crashes out.

He seems to be a bit of a pushover, but is targeting another second place finish at the Giro really fine with him? I'm guessing he'd rather have another crack at a TDF top-10. It's been a while.

One detriment for Uran in my view is that he has raced 6 GT's over the last 3 years, Giro/Vuelta consistently. Maybe if he just did the TDF he could get by with only doing one GT, but for the last few years he has not done well at the Vuelta, even though it helps him for the WC RR and arguably then helps for the winter training for the Giro.

Plus, barring high profile crashes (let's hope 2014 was an exception), he'll be racing for third - at best - considering that Nibali is apparently going to race this.

The TDF would be a more appealing goal, I'd think, even if the route suits him less. He still doesn't have a top-10 there, versus two second places at the Giro and practically no chance to do better.

He might have joined OPQS for that reason, but it makes a lot more sense to aim for the Giro for both him and OPQS. Especially now that Kwiatkowski is the world champion.

I'll take an avatar bet that Contador beats Uran in the ITT btw ;)

Astana manager says Nibali won't ride il Giro --> OP does not include Nibali in the poll. It's not rocket science.
Nibali said he wants to ride, Aru said they may race it together, all three said it is yet to be decided --> there is a chance that Nibs goes to the Giro. Not rocket science indeed

Then start a new poll where Nibali fans can vote for Nibali and won't have to cry about him not being included  and if you don't, stop complaining about the OP

I don't quite understand why you're so annoyed by what looked to me like a legit question, considering in the poll there are the likes of Pozzovivo and Rolland between others, who have 0% chance to ever win this.
I don't have to "stop" complaining, that was a single post.

EDIT: Even Uran didn't confirm anything.

I am annoyed, because every 5 posts or so someone asks why Nibali isn't included in the poll. The explanation seem logical to me, and I suggest that if someone wants Nibali in the poll, they should start another poll instead of complaining about it in this thread, because that is pretty useless.

yeah let's have two polls already in october, so in two months we'll have to close both of them because the field will look completely different. How many did we have to start last year? 4-5? It looked pretty logical, to me, to make the first one as broad as possible, since nobody, nobody, not even AC, is 100% or 0% sure to race the Giro.

So get over it and deal with it. What's the use of complaining about the options of a poll when 1) those options can't be changed and 2) no one is gonna start a new poll. It's just complaining for the sake of it.

as a matter of fact, those options can be changed, you know. Mods superpowers they call it. But it would be quite rude to do it without the OP's explicit request.

I am surprised that he has less than 76% of this vote...

I don't think that Nibali will ride the Giro. The desire to defend the Tour is too great. And Froome and Quintana will be there, so it's not like he's dodging a clearly stronger field.

Challengers to a fit Contador? After another off season Aru may be a little better than this year, and he is already very good. Would that be enough? Probably not.

Uran would be the best chance. He could take time out of Alberto on stage 14, and softish MTF's might suit him. If he has a strong team, could a domestique help him to sufficiently limit his losses on Aprica and/or Sestrieses?

Possible. But he'd likely need at least a minute gained in the ITT; another half a minute in the TTT would be handy too. Uran is very good, so he is at least a candidate.

If he rides...
