Without addressing any issues of apparent guilt or innocence, I will treat this as the question: would you rather have a clear conscience or lots of money?

For me that is no question. I could not live with a guilty conscience.

Susan

Susan, you are not saying YOU have a clear conscience are you?
Completely clear?

I do not think that would be healthy.
Now go call your mom or hug your kid.
Or do both:)

And leave BPC alone. He is interesting and fun.

Alright! Glad to hear that there are some at least who'll be honest about preferring the money and the memories of skulduggery.

if the cancer returns the money won't be worth much.

you people are jackasses. Making such a comparison between Greg and Lance does no good whatsoever.
Neither one is running for President (or should I say pope?) We say justice is blind, but, c'mon isn't this getting a little old?

It is a valid comparison. Class vs Trash. Clean vs Druggie, Saint vs Pimp

What? USADA should not investigate doping in the sport? Really?

Wonderboy has no problem sleeping at night. He is tired of the legal fees though

Seems Lance does not care as much. Me, I would prefer that Lance used the "Legal Dream Team" he used with the Fed investigation. But I can well understand why Lance would say "Screw it".

For the last couple of years, the General Public have increasingly viewed Pro Cycling as a joke. Now with the USADA actions - Pro Cycling IS turning into a joke. Riders and Insiders are mad. Fans are mad. True fans that is.

Lance does not need Pro Cycling. Pro Cycling needs Lance.
USADA needs Pro Cycling. To use as a justification of its existance. Sure, soccer and swimming and tennis and gymnastics etc etc etc are under USADA budget - but Pro Cycling is the Cash Cow of Dirtiness.
Lance probably needs to distance himself from Pro Cycling while the USADA does its thing.

It appalls me that Joe Papp, a USADA mouthpiece, actually has a sockpuppet in the CN Forums in Benotti69. Did a double posting praising you, RR. You are unwittingly being used too.

Pro Cycling is becoming a joke. USADA is encouraging the Hater Tards to cut off their nose to spite their face. Hater tards are coming out of the woodwork to do just that. Lance needs to step away for a while.

But the ASO needs to act FAST. The ASO needs to distance themselves from the USADA quickly. Don't let the USADA tarnish the Tour. Vive le Tour! Although this year's Tour will be a joke unfortunately. Kind of sucks.
USADA don't give a ****.

Unlike you, personality disorder and all, I don't need to/have to/choose to resort to posting here under anything other than my real name and with my true identity.

I'm fast coming to realize that your posts don't have much redeeming value if any such that your absence might actually serve to halt the flow of misinformation, half-truths and outright lies.

Joe, I responded to this in the SockPuppet Thread.

Well, I am not surprised that you don't understand it if you think that it is going after just one rider.
I am sure if you had a look at the 80% you allude to you will find that they have been banned, sanctioned or faced the consequences of their actions.
Now it's Armstrongs turn.

While I admit that Armstrong opened himself up to further charges by his un-retiring, I still question those here (and elsewhere) who are so consumed by seeing him prosecuted. Why do so many still revel in Pantani's doped exploits? Why did so many yearn for Vinokorov's return? Why is Bjarni Riis still a DS?

Again, because I know folks will think I am defending LA, I am not. I just object to what I see as subjective persecution. A noble warrior would willingly tear down the monuments of their own tarnished heros.

I still ride my 2003 vintage Team ONCE Giant TRC. And I was there atop Cote de La Rochette when my hero, Joseba Beloki's career ended. And I have no illusions that he did not dope. If you want to yank down Armstrong, will you be as willing to yank down all other dopers?

Riis admitted, Pantani became a tragic figure, Vino (at least) served his time, although he lost points by not admitting anything, but we get to watch him race. Riis probably shouldn't be a DS, however we would have a minute selection of team directors to choose from if we eliminated all past dopers. Lance still denies and rabidly attacks all who question the myth while running his sham charity/cover op.

I say throw them all out.

You are making a very good point! On these boards there are many who seems to love AC (and even claiming that he is clean when thay at the same time calls out Armstrong as the biggest doper of all time) so I think your post is spot on.

Personally I'd like to see all of those old dopers (Basso, Klöden, Scarponi, Contador, Di Luca etc..) thrown out of the pro tour, but it's not up to me to decide...

As for Bjarne Riis, I think he is a total disgrace and it's a shame that he does not have the decency to remove himself from the world of cycling.

Though he should have some credit for coming clean, for whatever reason he did it.

As for a guy like Vaughters, he seems to be "one of the good guys" these days, but riding for Postal back in the days make you think he is either as bad as all the other dopers or just a pragmatic coward.

SPEAK UP or SHUT UP about "Cycligng are cleaner these days and my team is sooo clean"... Well, then tell us how you know that!!

You ask the right question, yet you spent the first paragraph answering it??

Yes, yank them all down.
As noted by Hugh all those you mention have suffered consequences for their actions and you do realize Riis confessed, quite different from Armstrong.

Yeah, confessed and has suffered no consequence.

A life time ban for Armstrong and stripped of all results? OK by me... if only you seek the same for all other dopers.

I don't really care what sanctions are eventually applied, but his doping should be punished.

That is fine... as long as you will be as enthusiastically supportive of punishing all the other dopers.

Above all Lemond was a very conservative racer. He won races by following wheels and letting other guys panic before putting in one or two good moves at exactly the right moments.

ironically, i couldn't think of any better advice than the bolded for the novice racer. hell, it's pretty much the same formula i've been using for years!

You'll find that I have been doing that in many threads here about diffent riders.
I would have been impressed if you used this "subjective persecution" arguement when Ullrich was (quite rightly) sanctioned.

Might want to modify this poll. The "Lots of money" is rapid becoming "Not so much money" and in a couple years will be "No Money"

Floyd as a "joker" choice, seems like he'd be the funniest to hang out with that's for sure. Would I half to assume their physical character because I'd almost rather be Lance than fat.

I read that he pulled in about $20M in 2010. He probably spent a good several million in 2011 on his legal and publicity teams. This site might make a few clinicians angry. I stuck around long enough to earn $90 and I have to say, I got a little jealous.
