In terms of the team effort, the real problem was that Stannard and Wiggins, two of their supposedly three strongest guys, did very little to help. You might as well use up the likes of Knees, Viviani, Puccio and Eisel early on like Sky did because they aren't strong enough to be in the final anyway.

Of course, it wouldn't have mattered anyway, with Thomas below par, and Rowe was the only Sky rider who impressed. Hard to see them getting anything next Sunday now either.

Sky's tactics today were just wrong. They have Thomas who has been looking strong and Sky should have prioritised making sure that he has a team mate with him in the latter stages of the race so he does not need to waste energy chasing down escapes.
Instead they ride at the front and use up all their energy leaving "alone again" Thomas in a unwinnable position.
Sh%t Tactics.

For once we can agree! :D

Although From Thomas' post race interview it seems he never had the legs today, hopefully he has a teammate or two with him if he does feel good next Sunday.

We all know that he will be working for Wiggins next Sunday so unless Wigo has a mechanical or dead legs, Thomas is just a domestique next week

Wiggins will crash out before they reach Arenberg. That's what usually happens when you focus on just one race in the season.

The new K8-S, which is the fantastic result of

your Grandfather's PINARELLO was road tested
with accelerometers, power meters and GPS
instrumentation.

You do know their product is OEM, right? Like most bikes, there are about three manufacturers responsible for 99% of worldwide production. The engineering is all Taiwanese.

Pinarello tests prior to approving a product run, like Specialized tests Merida or Trek tests Giant products. That's not manufacturing or product development.

Team SKY has always embraced ideas and experts
from other sports. With Paula Jane Radcliffe MBE
now calling time on her remarkable athletics career I
think it would be most lovely if her knowledge and her
experiences could benefit Team SKY in some way,
shape or form. Sir Dave, my friend, what say you?

Thay are not getting that objetive.. they are the team with more money, so for that with better riders, and with more technology, but usually Movistar finish as the best team of the year...

Anyway I think Froome, in the team he is, is going to be the best Tour contender since 2011 to 2020. I dont think any eritrean could gey that level before, except he came to Europe very young.. Quintana will be close, so it will be similar next years...

Does anyone understand what this means? Is Taxus expecting big things from Eritreans?

Take care of the pence and the pounds take care of themselves.
Many other teams have wind-tunnel tested outfits.

Come on , we know Sky invented wind tunnels . Aero bikes .Oval chainrings. Compact chainrings. Special pillows. Beetroot juice. Socks that don't smell. Twitter. Thunderbird 2. Warming down and up. Fancy body tape. Nose clips. Bike computers. Whiskey. Time portals. Electric shifting, Jaguar cars, Aero helmets. Aero beards and haircuts. Nutella, Self healing jerseys and shorts and ITV commentator Ned Boulting :D
For more inventions see clinic ;)

The future of cycling is in the high countruies of Africa and other parts of the world, maybe in America, but they need to be in Europe from young.. if froome would have come to europe with 15 years old, he would be better now.

But as well if he would be in another team, he woudlnt be so strong now..today, it doen mind the team, he would be the better in any team with a minimum of infraestructure.

Eritrea has potential, Berhane and Kudus are going to be good, but they are the forst, the best are still to come...

Everybody inside cycling know that SKy is pioneer in a lot of things in cycling that know most of team uses.

if you dont know this, just get best infiormed...but is not a forum full of especulations without base from people with any relation with cycling world, the best way to get information.

I understand that people dont like SKy way, for me is the same, but that has nothing to be with clinic...

We can all agree that team sky is without doubt the greatest cycling team in the last three deacade, able to dominate the entire cycling season from Feb to Novemeber with their own brand of attacking racing, brillant tactics and science.

But its key to analise the key reasons for their success which might not be so clear to some people.

1. Recognising tallent in untraditional areas like triathelon and track cycling. We all know know that Wiggos super tallent was evident in his track resuts but other teams were too short sighted to see this.

2. Developing young riders. The years of time and effort invested in riders like froome and Port is un parreleled in modern cycling and has enabled Sky to get unprecedented results.

3. SCIENCE!

4. Getting the best support staff. We all know that sky has the best people working behind the sceans to achieve top results, and best of all they are British!
I'm just curious why he stops at 3 decades? :D

I think Knighthoods are the key - getting "Sir" in front of your name is a great motivator.
I'm biased, but Sir Brad's success is well down to his obvious Aussie heritage. :D

Dont ruin this thread with your petty childishness. We are hear to talk about genuine advancements in cycling... Did you know they have different gerseys for when it is cold and when it is hot! thats the kind of inovation that wins grand tours.

You mean long sleeves and short sleeves?
