If you do a proper recon, you won't have to be a weather man to know which way the wind blows and you'll know which is the proper way to take a round-about. The value of Nico to Ineos should not be under-rated.

The 2019 Tour is more proof, I think, that Sir Dave is the smartest man in cycling. If rock n roll was his jam, he would already be recognised as a God-like Genius...or if he was from Texas he'd be recognised for his 10-gallon head/brain. Alas, he is British and cycling is his gig so he'll have to make do with plain old Sir Dave the Genius.

Starting with track cycling and playing the long game so he could show prospective sponsors that he would provide real value for sponsorship monies was a brilliant idea. As well he took the all-important team aspect from team pursuit/team sprint/madison and it transformed modern Grand Tour road cycling...not only winning GT's but also often having a second rider on the podium when so many "experts" predicted his tactics were doomed to failure. But let's be honest, his detractors just don't understand the value of his un-matched team building abilities.

Congratulations to Egan, SuperG and the whole beautiful band of brothers and sisters Sir Dave assembled both on the road and behind the scenes. Well done, once again.
