I think a lot of it is unknown. What we do know is that Widar's acceleration uphill is absurd.
Now to altitude for Basque and spring classics? So got sick after Algarve, tried Saturday in Ardeche but felt bad, first competition block over as no Laigueglia or Strade either. Bad start of the season but not the first time for him.
Unless he ads something to his race schedule (like I don't know Milano Torino would be interesting if it ends on Superga again?) yes. Does Indurain just before Basque I think. Now to altitude for Basque and spring classics?
If there’s one race I would’ve like him to skip with sickness it was Strade. He could do well there but don’t know his bike skills on gravel. Could also end up bad.
Superga finish is confirmed.Unless he ads something to his race schedule (like I don't know Milano Torino would be interesting if it ends on Superga again?) yes.
That would fall in the middle of an altitude session. So doubt he'll add that.Unless he ads something to his race schedule (like I don't know Milano Torino would be interesting if it ends on Superga again?) yes. Does Indurain just before Basque I think.
To be honest, i don't get the hype about Widar. Yes, he has a great punch, but what he can do at high level besides that?

Wow, calm down. Then i'm assuming you also don't understand the hype about any other guy that is very good at u23 or junior level? Not saying he isn't a bit overrated or overhyped, but it's kinda normal there's interest in a guy who has the results he had at youth level.
I agree. It makes sense to do some WT races this year, but 80% should be focused on .1 and some .Pro races.Yeah doubt it too, but it's just that these are the kind of races I would like to see him in. I really feel like he skips a step. From u23 level races to WT level races, barely anything .1 or .Pro cause he did an extra u23 year and now doesn't want to wait before doing WT races.
Wow, calm down.
What is his ceiling? F-W winner?
He is not GC guy, he is not cobbles guy, he is not a sprinter.
Just a good puncher.
Thread title literally says 'wonderkind', when Widar is a glorified Ben Hermans.
If you say he can win or podium GT i'm listening.
We will see, maybe he will find it harder in the pros to be a winner compared to what he did in the youth ranks. To be honest, i don't get the hype about Widar. Yes, he has a great punch, but what he can do at high level besides that?
If he won't have success in GTs then where he will? Ardennes and that's all. Stevie Williams has won F-W and nobody called him wonderkind.Where am I not calm lol. I just think it's a very weird statement. Look at his u23 palmares. EC, Baby Giro, LBL, Alpes Isere, Isard, Valle d'Aosta twice, 2nd in Avenir (behind the biggest talent of the last x years, beating him twice in mountain stages). Obviously it's completely normal for there to be some hype.
Like I said, overhyped is different, I agree in the sense that great u23 results don't mean he will ever be close to GC succes in GTs, but that's the case with like 90% of talents nowadays.
Saying glorified Ben Hermans is just ridiculous and you know it. Taking the piss for no reason. No reason to discuss anything with you then.
I think it's way too premature to say where Widar's ceiling might be.If he won't have success in GTs then where he will? Ardennes and that's all. Stevie Williams has won F-W and nobody called him wonderkind.
If i would call Widar the next Stevie would you call me ridiculous? He even has TDU GCm which seems like a good ceiling for Widar.
