I don't think it affects A. Schleck's chances at all. Did anyone ever consider Wigans a contender?

Are you suggesting that Andy can out-drink Bradley?

Andy gets sh*t all the time on this forum for "only racing twice a year" - here is a guy who openly states he races once every four years ;)

Why is there so much bitterness towards Brad amongst our American friends.

It's really quite funny. :)

What's even funnier are Wigan's results.:D

There is also something special in the American intellect that I guess the rest of us can't quite grasp.

You mean the three olympic gold medals, seven world titles, a fourth overall at the Tour de France and a stage at the Giro? Yeah, hilarious. What a chump.

I meant for the last year. It isn't my fault that he completely sh*t the bed after building himself up as a contender. His 4th at the TdF was a long time ago. And its funny, but I haven't heard his name called this year...What a chimp.

If I ever have to use my ears to read, I will get right on that...

Past that, maybe Mr. Doom is the one that needs to read the thread, because I that only lends credence to my point.

You guys are a sensitive lot, dang. Wigans blows himself up into big balloon of because of his own words, and when the balloon got popped, you guys didn't see the joke. Sucks for you.

TFF, you seem to be the only one who has high expectations for Wiggins. No-one thought he was going to win the Tour last year, not even me and Dimspace.

He's only in his second race of the year so I'm not entirely surprised that you haven't heard his name called yet. He did take a brief holiday on the track and won the TP at a World Cup event.

...don't be "entirely surprised" when you don't hear it later either.

No, I knew he couldn't win the TdF. HE is the one who built himself up, and in fact, I would suggest that you read threads from last year at this time to see that there were some of your compatriots who were buying the hype.

Past that, I was just taking a dig. I don't mind the guy that much, and didn't rub it in during the TdF last year. In fact, I was quite respectful about it.

You guys really are sensitive.

I think you said he would struggle to finish top 30?

I had him in my top4

Not this year...

Those count about as much as results in a neighborhood crit. The only people who care about that are the Brits and the Aussies.

Last year I predicted that Wigans would finish twenty minutes down on the winner of the TdF. This year, with his attitude and a TdF course far from that joke of a route in 2009, I predict thirty minutes. If given a chance, Rogers should finish above Wigans.

You act like I've come in here whining and crying about how everyone is picking on poor Bradley Wiggins. Cav- and Wiggo-bashing threads are a monthly occurrence here, if I got worked up about them I'd have worried myself in to an early grave long before now.

That is a bunch of B.S. There were tons of people who believed in Wigans based upon a ludicrous result in a ludicrous Tour de France. After Wigans failure, all those people began pretending that they always knew that Wigans never had a chance. It suddenly became popular knowledge that Wigans was not a real contender. There has been a huge amount of revisionism about people's expectations for Wigans.

Look dude, I said I was just having a little dig...I don't know if you know this, but you Brits are famous for doing that from time to time. Its part of what makes you charming. Maybe cut back on the coffee...or tea as it were.

I must have lost my sense of humour about it after the thirtieth 'lol Wigans' thread. They don't make me angry, but the constant stream of invective that gets spewed in the direction of Cav or Wiggins every time they open their mouth, win a race, lose a race, or tie their shoelaces has started to bore me intensely.

Funny thing is, if he had done well at last year's Tour there'd be an equivalent thread in the Clinic calling him a doper.

You can see why pro's think forums are things of ridicule sometimes. ;)

I understand, but you do have the option to not open the threads. It wasn't a mystery what it was about. If you are so bored, maybe don't come in calling someone a "chump" if you care so little. When you so things like that, it kind of makes it seem like you do in fact care. Call me crazy.

And the thing is with The 2009 tour parcours being useless, probably yes but he still beat Vande Velde.

Someone who is better on the track than they are at riding a GT.:D

You mean the rider who was still recovering from breaking bones in the Giro? That guy still climbed almost as well as Wigans.

Anyone want to take bets on which one will finish higher in the TdF (provided that VDV can avoid crashing, and that is a big provision)?
