And here he is in 2 years later, taking an event that happened, and altering the facts in order to get a little Lance hate into an interview so the sheeple go - oh look, he says he hates Lance, that means he must be clean.

That's certainly my take on it.

"I love him," Wiggins said. "I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense. Even his strongest critics have benefitted from him. I don't think this sport will ever realise what he's brought it or how big he's made it.

"Cycling was in the dark ages before he came along, in many ways. You only have to look at the support along the roads, compared to what it was 20 years ago. The majority of that is because of Lance Armstrong. Obviously he has his enemies and people among the fans who don't like him, but they've all benefitted from him and his existence on the Tour."

IMO, these are for more than the words of someone just trying to avoid the ire of a peloton singularity.

Far from it. Wiggo's tone when recounting the anecdote was a cross between amusement, grudging respect and after-dinner speaker.

What time was the Steve Peters bit ? From what I am led to believe the removal of Peters from the SLT of BC WCPP/Sky was not something Brailsford and Sutton informed Peters of before they announced it to the gathered group when at the Celtic Manor Newport. He needed to go. Another example of Wiggo needing to talk at 180° to the previously held corporate opinion. No stone left unturned blah blah blah...

I just can't stand how the fools at the BBC get suckered into using as pundits, in a variety of sports, the most unsuitable people. McEnroe for tennis, John Hartson for football, Michael Johnson athletics etc. That they use Hayles so much is just another step in the wrong direction. Then when Wiggo gets exposed they are going to think "where did that come from ? Who'd'ave thunk it ?
I never worked with Steve Peters that much because I never felt he helped me; I felt he made it more complicated. I never agreed with his chimp theory, which has become so famous. I always thought it was a distraction from who you were as a person.

Based on that theory, if someone had a go at you, particularly in the track environment, it was like, 'Just ignore him, it's his chimp talking'. I always had a problem with that, I was like, 'No it's not. It's Shane Sutton and he's being horrible to me!'

no, I didn't make that up...

So who would you use?

I can't help you re the timing of the Steve Peters bit. Sorry. I think Wiggo was just winding Queen Vic up by "dissing" the Chimp when she was interviewing him. He didn't like the concept that folk could hide behind bad behaviour by blaming their Chimp, as he prefers personal responsibility.

They use particular types for pundits who they think are good pundits or who play a role in a pundit team. Johnson fits this role particularly, being the miserable git who can see downsides in pretty much anything, with the hyperactive Colin Jackson yapping at him like an excited puppy, with Grace Jones / Denise Lewis ready to step in an slap them if necessary. Hayles is very good, combining good technical knowledge, with a dry self-deprecating humour. If the sh*t hits the fan then they will get canned, airbrushed from history and replaced by someone else. It's the BBC way of doing things.

The reasons why Wiggo gets interviewed so much are pretty obvious. Listen to Wiggo for 5 minutes and you'll either be laughing or tearing your hair out or both. Listen to Froome for 5 minutes and you'll be asleep.

I put a post on Twitter saying Rob Hayles saying Saint Millar was a great road captain laghable. I didnt hastag Hayles or tag him in.

Within 5 mins he said it was out of his knowledge and experiance and where was my opinion formed from.

Hayles is a complete ***.

funny you should say that - he must search his name on twitter every two minutes - because I mentioned him, no handle, about the hct being over 50% and within two minutes he had followed me. Then unfollowed me. Strange it was as though he was trying to let me know he was watching me.

Wouldn't be surprised if our resident Wiggo in 2012 "was perfectly normal" + Coyle defender does the same thing ;-)

Wiggins's TUEs, he starts getting injections once he pretends he is a GT rider then off the high octiane gear when he becomes crap again. Couldn't make this *** up. What a nutter.

The the bottom 3 TUEs are when Leinders joined Sky. All makes sense now...

In 2011, 2012 and 2013 Wiggins got a TUE for triamcinolone acetonide - which is 8 times stronger than prednisone. And he smokes?

So is Wiggins now cured?
