I suspect Cav is one those people who doesn't mind taking the mickey, but can't take it back.

EDIT: I don't know you've ever heard of happy slapping, but a brilliant variant of this was developed called 'pigeon' in Croydon in the mid 2000s. This involved ejaculating in your hand and slapping someone in the face while shouting 'PIGEON' - for extra laughs, record it on your mobile phone and it put it on Youtube. This is the strategy I suspect Cav will take.

Dude , thats ****ing disgusting.

Nice... You know everything there is to know and so anyone who disagrees with you must be wrong. Are you twelve?

Wiggins likes to stir (I don't know whether that translates in your country/planet, but it means to say things that will wind up people who take it all a bit too seriously, i.e. You. You could call it trolling I suppose). I believe he then peruses cycling forums, maybe even this one, to see what reactions his words have provoked. Stupid ones mainly.

Is Wiggins twelve? Sounds like it!!

The team does have implosion written all over it. Not only do you have the Wiggo/Cav dynamic but you’ve got Froome who is probably a better athlete then Wiggins. Then you have Porte who left Saxo so he wouldn’t have to ride for Contador and will have to not only ride for a team-leader but a not very good one. Then you have EBH who is only going to get better and better and is always a chance to win a stage who will now have to lead-out Cav and then shepherd Wiggins putting aside any personal glory. There’s no way this team is going work. It’s not Postal by a long-shot. At least with Postal they all rode for one common cause. Not in this case. They won’t know who to ride for or what horse to back.

I suspect you're wrong. In that situation Cav is well aware that he's going to be off the back and will most likely retort with something along the lines of "blah blah blah, training going well, lead-out boys are working great, it's just a shame Brad can't keep up..."

Cav and Sky leadout train in action: CN link

There's a marginally interesting video on there, showing the leadout train 'in action'. Rather ragged at this early stage, and with no one else on the road

The Tour of Qatar, starting this Sunday, should provide some early indications of how it's going. Of course, there's no Wiggo, so we'll have to wait to see how the team dynamics progress ;)

I'm pretty sure that Cav and Wiggins enjoy their little tit for tat

To me it sounds like Wiggins is doing exactly the same mistake as he did in 2010 - i.e getting way too confident and forgetting to have fun etc.

First he compared himself to Indurain after Froome had ridden everyone of his wheel (which Wiggins took all credit for), and now he compares his team with US postal...Well actually, the part about "5-6 riders in front of me in the mountains" could be true, but I don't think they'll be in the lead group...Rather a couple of minutes behind with a pale looking Wiggins getting paced by superior riders who's personal ambitions have been washed aside by Sky's nationalistic tactics.

There aren't that many riders for Sky that have won the Dauphine, podiumed Paris-Nice and the Vuelta and finished top 5 in the Tour are there? Who should they be riding for instead? Or is it just bitterness that everyone's favourite chubby cheeked Norwegian isn't Sky's number one priority in every single race?

"Sky's nationalistic tactics"

Pro cycling has always had that.

You're right. No matter how I try to imagine it, I can't see Wiggo standing on that podium top step; however, he does have some impressive results.

It's a moot point - what is more beneficial to a team sponsor - numerous (hopefully) stage wins, photos of your name on a green jersey with arms aloft, not to mention winning on the Champs Elysees; or someone 'there or thereabouts' on the stages and a win at the end?

Cav is starting to come across as very media savvy - he does well at interview, speaks his mind, has a little controversy every now and again, and smiles. AND he won a popularity contest (Sports Personality of the Year) by miles ahead of a number of more well-known sports people. Wig - not so much. So I think I know who the team members are likely to want to support.

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about, I didn't even mention EBH and obviously don't think that he has a chance in the GC of a GT. I'm thinking of guys like Uran, Henao and Froome. Obviously Wiggins should be better than them on paper but the point was that I expect Wiggins to have a similar year to 2010 in which case one of those guys should be given the chance, but probably won't get it.

I just assume it to be true because he sounds like a scouser.

Well you do have a point there, at least it wasn't some baseless kneejerk reaction.

Oh dear. I assume you two bastions of humour hail from some corner of the globe renowned for its wit then?

Wiggins has previous for talking a bit daft at times, but I don't think doping can be inferred from this. My opinion only!
