This is the post which brings doping into the discussion.

He may have better palmares but he got them all by cheating. Wiggins has probably won more clean than Valverde ever will.

Mambo knows it belongs in the clinic cos half of his posts have been spent on insulting anyone who visits the clinic.

Surely it too should be deleted no?

Perhaps he thinks that the parcours is very indecisive and Eze will be the key now, I'd certainly agree with that.
You happen to have overlooked few things: it's not a flat TT, he's not experienced enough and Valverde smarter than him. If anything, Levi is may be the man to beat here.

PS: The thread is back on track :D

It's all well and good to be able to win a short stage race, but when we're talking about a grand tour I haven't seen anything that convinced me that Wiggins can do it, I mean last year Vuelta has been won by Cobo last time I checked.
If Leipheimer wins this year P-N, I can only assume that Wiggins will never win a gran tour.
I'd be happy to be mistaken.

He was experienced enough to win the Dauphine. That wasnt bad for a novice.
That just did, he won a race that where most of the big-name riders are using to train for the Tour.

Then he crashed out of the Tour and finished 3rd in la Vuelta, in which his domestic was able to get 2nd and most of the favorites were burned out due to Giro participation.

Everyone knows I'm not Valverde's biggest fan, but when someone says he got his palmares because of doping alone then you know they're full of crap. I bet Valverde has already more road victories this season than Bradley Wiggins in his entire career.

yeah that guy was mean probably he can't stand valverde
valverde was already winning when he was in diapers, one of the biggest talents i've seen.still not a huge fan but that's the way it is.you can't compare wiggins with him yet.

BTW you're wrong :)

So what ?

Wiggo won Olympic gold medals and is much more popular man than Valverde will ever be ( bar really big cycling fans ). As well as you have to say Wiggo never trained for road, as track was his speciality. To see track rider winning Dauphine or getting 4th in Tour doesnt happen often If I am correct, does it Psiti ? Doest escape the fact that Valverde is a better cyclist.

Totally agree.

And the funniest part is its coming from someone who has in the past threatened to sue moderators for allowing the exact same allegations that he is making in this thread, to pass against his favorite riders.

I agree with you about Wiggins achievements, hes a top guy, but to accuse everyone who likes Valverde of not being real cycling fans is a bit desperate.

As for who has more fans, Well take a look at the Xorret de Cati climb in 2010 having Valverdes name all over it even though he wasnt even in the race, to get an indication of who is more popular.

Did i miss something? Wiggins said something about Valverde?

It isnt an indispensable condition to post here. Sometimes there's so huge need to depreciate that any quote can be made out.

lol at wiggins having more fans than valverde=)))))))))the world is bigger than united kingdom you know.

ya hilarious, so is saying wiggins is a more successful rider.

a little hint for you gloin22: no1 cares about the track, winning a GT and 2 monuments >>>>>>>>> then any track achievement and valverde won a GT with a much better field then the one where wiggins came third so its not even an argument about who is the better cyclist.

btw before you get all **** hurt and say track matters, if it matters so much, why did wiggins(and many others) leave it for the road?

Well thats where you are wrong for a start.

On the track Wiggins has 6 World championships and 3 Olympic gold medals along with countless other podiums. As a road rider Valverde has undoubtabley been more successful, but as a cyclist, Wiggins is up there with the most successful in the world.

No one cares about the track in continental Europe. It means nothing on the road.

^^that, is it that hard to understand that no1 really cares about the track in continental europe? for all i(and most people care) wiggins could have won everything on the track for the past 50 years and we would still say that any1 with a GT or a monument win, which wasn't a total fluke ofc, is a better cyclist then him. deal with it.

If forum discussions had to take place around what riders said this forum would be pretty boring.

the discussion has somehow moved onto these comparisons between Wiggins and Valverde.

Can we compare the 2 riders - an interesting discussion, or do we have to wait for them to actually bad mouth each-other in a race before we can proceed?
