Age and 2013 race legs will catch up with him the 3rd week. No way around it.

Did anyone see how fresh Nibbles was after the stage?

The answer is no. He could perhaps get 2nd.

This reminds me of Santa's thread during the Giro but there's no chubby face to make fun of.

Nibali didn't even take a single second out of Horner's lead from when he attacked.

Grandpa has it in the bag.

Maybe podium, I think he'll lose time in the 3rd week mountains. He's doing much better then I thought he would do before the Vuelta though.

I'm thinking the same. Though I'd like to see him on the podium I say he finishes outside the top 3.

Sometimes he's pretty good sometimes he's not. I say he'll be in the mix with most of the other GC guys here.

How is Horners TT-skills compared to the other GC_guys?

he is very unpredictable in ITT, he had some really good ones ; he also had some really bad ones. I expect him to lose at least 1:30 in normal situation, but who knows what sort of Horner will show up on the day!

The notion of Horner winning the Vuelta is extremely prespoterous, and yet, completely plausible.

Horner to win the Vuelta with ease and become the quickest rider to win all 3GT's. Plus the first guy to do the GT treble(I'm sure you'll get great odds for that, if you place the bet now!).

Who knows, he might lose his form a couple of days into the race as the effects from the beetroot juice starts fading away (unless he has brought some in reserve for the rest day).

If he wins, Purito, Valverde & Nibbles better retire from Cycling.
Only for the next 5-10 years or so. They can make a comeback then.

I think he will finish top 5, but not on podium.....as usual no decent option to vote.
