refreshing to see that the dutch fans take this ‘national tragedy’ with some humor and grace.

Apparantly a lot of (Dutch) people are very angry at Bob de Jong for being so happy about Kramer's disqualification. :D

The jokes have started

Also funny how USA are so good at nordic combined when they don't know how to ski or how to ski jump :p

none of them can though.

i've been told Moan, the best x country skier of them all, finished about 25th or thereabouts in the norwegian nationals a year ago or so. and the depth in quality in norwegian x country skiing ain't the best (not at the very top although there's a lot of 2nd and 3rd tier skiers)

Well the Netherlands provided the upsets on the last 3 speedskating events (Tuitert, Wust and Kemkers) who's going to do it today. A medal for either of the Dutch would be a huge surprise.

Everybody here (the Netherlands) seems to think Sablikova is going top win, but I have a feeling Hughes is going to do it again. She really looked good on the 3000. Normally the podium should be between Sablikova, Beckert, Hughes and maybe Groves and Anschutz.

Anybody watcging the crosscountry relay, looks like really tough conditions (I'm sure The French would agree afther that fall).

Holy crap! Men's 4x10KM relay just finished..........AMAZING RACE!!! :D

Norway lost it in the second leg, but good to see Northug do some chasing on his own. Sweden really deserved the win they were clearly the strongest team. The only thing missing in that race was some bad luck for Sweden to make the finish even more exciting;).

OK, I am an Aussie but have lived in Canada for nearly 7 years and consider myself an honorary Canadian of sorts. I couldn't be happier or prouder seeing Team Canada thrash the Russians in hockey with an awesome first period, and then Canada going 1-2 in the women's bobsleigh. Go Canada!

Yes, what a great performance to neuter such a potent Russian offence. Looks like Team Canada is starting to gel. Highlight of the day for me is seeing Clara Hughes stand on the podium on her last race. What an accomplished athlete and she seems to be an even better person. And it's great to see Cdn men make huge progress in XC skiing, such a great sport and I'd love to see it get more exposure over here.

Elapid - feel free to invite Torah Bright to immigrate to Canada too!

Yeah, Hellner played it well dumping the other two. Props to Sweden. I'm stoked on the silver for Norway though...watching Northug pull those seconds back and catching France and Czech Rep like that was just amazing. Felt a little bad for France after they put in a good race to finish outside the medals though.

On top of Canada's performance, Australia's Lydia Lassila won gold in the women's freestyle aerials nailing both jumps. I had a great night enjoying wins by my home and adopted countries!

I hope they (IOC) make up some new sports so the USA can get more medals!
Snowboarding is not serious! Just look at the way these “athletes” show up with the sagging pants and bandanas. Makes the traditional winter sports look dumb for allowing these folks to be called Olympians.

Oh almost forgot to add…… I hope the Russians do not win anything.
the snow boarding comp is really a defacto comp for bongheads.

And if you have read the amount of gro-ops in Vancouver, wow. Enough to do McConaughey's head in for a millennia

:D

It is sad that they (IOC) keep adding these sports that make a joke out of the games. I am so dang tired of the US media's blind reporting and half assed coverage of these games! If you want to watch tonight your stuck with 24/7 coverage of figure skating.

Side note… I heard Matthew McConaughey's and the Strongarm are coming out with a new “pork&beef sausage product for the state of Texas, they are going to call it StrongMcCocked.

Naturally, he's happy he got a medal. Maybe not in the manner he might have wanted things to end, but still. Can't really blame him, right?
And besides that, it's not really like him to be happy that Kramer lost.... Yes, I'm aware I'm taking this far to serious.
But I'm still curious where you got your information. When I hear other people about it, I either get acceptance or 'Hate to Kemkers'...
And I can't really be to frustrated about it. Somehow, watching Skobrev celebrate always makes my day. XD

Okay, I'm done. Time to move on.
Now I'm going to see if I can find an update on the icehockey tournament.. I believe I saw something about Sweden having been trown out, but I hope I misread that one...

You know what, women's hockey is not good. I mean, most sports with women are fine to watch, but women's hockey is just not very good. Slow. Just not good...

Making all sports have both men's and women's competitions is bogus. They should make the number of overall men's and women's competitions equal. Each gender could have a different mix of sports.

Well I am pretty pleased and impressed to see Joannie Rochette skate so well in such a stressful situation. Congrats to her for the bronze medal and hopefully she can find some solace in her family.
