What Hayter did to McNulty yesterday was a warning shot, and we didn't realize it

I didn't expect this result from Van Wilder. Vine was in great shape, but Van Wilder was the surprise today.
Hayter destroyed everyone in the second sector yesterday.

Pogacar was worse than I expected, but we have to give Van Wilder credit for his surprising performance.

Pogi is his prison ***
Dude, he looked like he applied his sun block with a trowel. And this jet lag hangover BS is ridiculous, between federation and UAE nobody could afford to get Pogacar to the race a few days earlier? His Canada legs looked like cement on first race and here Remco almost made a whoosh sound as he came by..
I hope Tadej gets it together.
I didn't notice if Remco was wearing one of those silly looking pimple strip bandage tape chunks on his nose.
.At least Isaac showed up. His TT times and technique are improving, not top tier yet..
One thing is for sure Belgians have raced their share of cobbles and Remco was whining about how hard it was.. So if those bumpy bricks are tough on him, it's going to be torture on most everyone else. It's really a marvel at the power that little garden gnome can produce.. Remco is absolutely amazing.. He really showed up today. When he is on he is hard to beat.

I think maybe McNulty had earplugs in and didn't hear the warning shot.. He certainly didn't see anything, won his second stage race of the year, reached 20 pro wins, guy is not too showy but he stays in the mix and got another GC because of it..Good year of racing for him..
Ethan had a decent year all his wins are TTs including nats. Hayter has 22 professional wins.

No explonation needed. Easily the first time im negatively suprised by Pogacar in 2 years. Super underwhelming performance by him. Really bad, no excuses.

Credit where credit is due, Evenepoel ate him alive. Happy for Remco that he won too, it wasnt even close, total demolishing. Easy to say that since thats what happened im not married to any of these guys.
The Tour de France really seemed to empty his tank. He began talking about retirement I think before the Tour even ended. When a man talks retirement, it means he is not enjoying what he's doing. He can get some downtime in the winter, come back and win a couple of monuments in the spring, and then he'll be back in good form.

Pogacar is flat, UAE better see the warning signs and take action. Last year he rolled out in February with UAE tour.. I get it, what better to showcase your race and team than to bring your top show dog to UAE Tour..maybe this year everyone's favorite new puppy Isaac Del Toro can parade around in the desert, give Tadej some rest..
I sure hope he gets some spark in the road race. Multiple Euros commenting ( complaining) about temps and high relative humidity in Kigali..too different than what they are used to.. I hope all the terrarium conditions don't wilt Pogacar as he tries to train before next week...

Yep. If he has good results in the road race, all will be well in the world.

he will win the RR by minutes and all this handwringing will be replaced by "The GOAT! The GOAT!" in the space of a week.

Even though I was rooting for Pogačar to win the WCTT title, I am still happy that Remco won as he needed a big win this season and what an emphatic way to do it, he is simply one of the best time trialists ever especially in Major Championships when he doesn't need to care about reaching his climbing weight.

Huge second place for Jay Vine, the fact that he finished closer to Remco than to the rest of the riders speaks volumes about the performance he did.

Surprise to see Van Wilder finishing third, he took advantage of some riders missing but this still is one of his best TT's ever, well done.

Disappointed with Pogačar but one day TTs are his weakness so I never expected him to win but definitely expected him to finish on the podium.

Great results for Del Toro and Leknessund. The first really looks like the real deal and I didn't expect Leknessund to do this good. Vargas surprisingly good too.

This should be a wake up call to Prudhomme (or even his boss, the CEO of ASO) to get Gouvenou and Guillen in line

The best TT rider is not currently the best climber and the best climber is not anywhere close to being the best TT rider.

Put in the very long flat ITTs and make Remco defend in the mountains and make Pog defend in the very long ITTs. We'll actually see a bike race then
