Jarno Widar just abandon. His bike went into crash modus and couldn’t shift to the smaller ring on the hill. Was chasing a long time untill he stopped.
This was his biggest goal, already since last year. Never wanna lose a race like this.

I know that, they have other good riders.

It's probably over anyways but Belgium, Australia (when Chamberlain is back atleast) and France really need to put their team at the front. They all have atleast 1 or 2 guys that can do the dirty work.

EDIT: well nvm about Belgium, Van den Heede dead too. This parcours is harder than people thought I think.

Strong attack from De Schuyteneer but Norway and GB are controlling.

And I don't think he close down a 30 second gap on his own.

Run into the finish barely has any good straight sections in it. I'd expect a solo move on the final climb to be perfectly viable.

France working in peloton now.

Asutralia the only team that isn't in front with 3 guys in peloton. They need to work.

I don't have much sympathy for those cows that didn't bother to dress up.

The recipe for Denmark should be simple: Storm should attack, Withen Philipsen should glue himself to the rear wheel of Nordhagen. Withen Philipsen can take anyone here to the line no problem. Plus the explosive efforts on the climbs here suit him more than diesel Nordhagen.

Crazy to think that Belgians, Dutch and Spanish riders have just decided to do nothing. How it that a tactic? At least the French are trying something.

It's easy imho: the strongest are in front, the ones in the back are simply not strong enough.

This parcours benefits strong riders wanting to pull and keep pulling. It benefits those that are up the road early as there isn't much saving to do while in the peloton: those little hills are maybe even harder in the peloton as they always have a much bigger change of pace than in the lead group.
