Give him some time to finish his junior years first. And to decide whether he actually wants to have greater focus on the road, or to continue doing basically everything.

Personally, I'd call him 'Withen', but that's mainly because 'sen-names' are boring.

"sen" ending surname is certainly as common as it gets in Denmark, was also born with "Rasmussen" and the middle name Schmidt (which means blacksmith ) but cut both of those surnames, decades back.
and nowadays tends to just go by the UK/Danelaw phrase "Sir Jake", as using loaded terms is extremely popular in the media these years.

Impressive junior wold champ victory to Albert Phillipsen, with a bad-out-of-hell-acceleration on the climb and the pace afterward that he kept extending to a massive +1.19min.
Gonna be an interesting rider for the future.

@DNP-Old many thanks to your extensive preview that added a lot to my viewing experience today.

Chapeau to AWP (a performance like that earns the initialisation only the greats have) that was special. Through the race it felt to me like Nico Roche was overstating the chances of Nordhagen as on the steepest pitches he was clinging on for the last 3 laps yet he didn’t seem to notice this.

Belgium were MIA and I think the likes of Remco and Wout will take from this that they have to take the bull by theme horns and attack from a long way out as trying to control a strong group with domestiques on a draining interval course like this is unrealistic.

Well he's already on the same team as Schwarzbauer, Lecomte & Burquier, so if Canyon are smart they'll be doing everything they can to keep him.
He's meant to be racing the XCO race next week, and from reading comments he wants to keep racing the MTB. I can think of a Canyon sponsored team which allows its riders to mix disciplines.......

The coolest part about the fact that it was a first-year who won among the guys is that the Rainbow Jersey will be on display for a whole year. You should also all be very happy that it wasn't Storm who won, as that basically saved you from, well, a hurricane of puns.

That's a bit of an overstatement, knowing how little he races on the road. I don't think that's likely to change next year, since Tscherning is such a small program and major Nations Cup races like Saarland coincide with the mtb World Cup. Denmark isn't on the startlist for Lunigiana either.

I do look forward to seeing it in Roubaix, where I think he would've already played a big role this year if not for suffering a mechanical twice. I've also heard he'll be attending the European Championships on the VAM Berg next month. Another circuit he's tailor made for.

Based on absolutely nothing this is what I came up with for tomorrow. Too many question marks riding around. Too many have done too few time trials of this magnitude to make a solid foundation for a prediction. Nonetheless, Segaert is going to win big. I had Vervenne at 4 stars initially, but it would appear that Gustav Wang has been preparing for this day like a mad man. He's been at altitude for the past month, doing nothing but TT training.

Yeah, lots of rain and a south westerly that'll be in their faces over the Crow. Wind meant to t be stronger for the womens race too, although less rain predicted then. At least the hail and thunderstorm predictions for saturday seem to be dying down.

I just can't see past Nys indeed. But youth categories are always hard to predict. Wouldn't be surprised if a group of strong outsiders goes clear once they hit the circuit and they stay away.

Italy will normally ride for Busatto, although Milesi is pretty explosive as well and clearly in very good shape.
