I don't think he is going to win but Bettiol is doing a good job at maintaining that gap at 0:20. probably showing how hard it is to really organize a chase on this course

If this comes down to a 5-way sprint between Pogacar, Van Aert, Van Der Poel, Bettiol and Pedersen, I may spontaneously cream my pants!

those bricks look horrendous by the way, this absolutely would have been GC-neutralized if it were a finish circuit at a GT

Bettiols break has worked out really nicely for Pog in particular. He's dangerous enough and got enough of a gap for it to be obvious enough that they have to work with each other properly and not pi$$ around with attacks etc.

Be interesting to see what happens when they eventually catch Bettiol, but Pog having 50km not having to chase every rider going off the front will have changed things somewhat.
